hey guys, i just picked up a 18" subwoofer for my current setup. quick info on what i have:
macbook pro late 2011 i7 cpu
hercules 4-mx
virtual dj 7.4
most recent hercules drivers (downloaded yesterday)
2 behringer b212d speakers plus a b1800d subwoofer.

heres my problem, after setting everything up , i was feeling like my subwoofer wasnt really performing like it should.
after a while of messing with the levels on the speakers i opened up the hercules control panel and when i moved the levers on the  input output section to have one channel higher than the other, the freakin sub came alive!!!!!!!! it hit hard, but once i put the levels back to match each other, the volume of the sub just dropped and i could not hear it as much. anyone know what could bathe problem? thanks guys.

Where did you plug in everything?

My guess is your speakers are on the outputs 1-2 and you plugged in your subwoofer on the output 3-4(which is the headphone output)

When you moved the channel 3-4 volume output the sub came alive, you should also be able to control it with the headphones knob in this case.

You should get a little Mixer/amp which allows you to connect both speakers/sub too then connect that mixer/amp to output 1-2

Actually, if you look at the B1800d Quick start guide, you'll see the all you have to do is to

- connect both B212d to the sub (Output A and Output B)

- Link Output 1/2 of the 4-Mx to Input A and Input B (in place of the Xenyx mixer displayed in the schematic).

As mentionned by TheCause, Output 3-4 of the console is a replication of the headphone output, and not meant to connect subs.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. But I have 2 trs coming out of input 1 and 2 into input A and B on the sub, and then used output A and B for the speakers. It baffles me cause the b212s still do get some bass to them.

The B212 are full range speakers, so obviously, they will still transmit some bass frequencies, and this is desirable.
This is why you have adjustments on the subwoofer and an EQ on each speakers so you can shape the sound to your taste.

^^ correct, which tripped me out and first alerted me to why my high and mid speakers were pounding harder than my subwoofer. Tried it out again today and problem still persisted. This is really throwing a curve ball trying to figure this out.

Can you be a little more explicit about what exactly seems to be the problem ?

You've applied the configuration described in the Quick Start guide (Step3: Getting started) ?

Ok so, everything is hooked up correctly to my system and laptop. Everything sounds ok....but when i open up my 4-mx control panel, and I lower either channel 1 or 2 on the volume input screen, my sub just hits hard like it should, or i should say, i can actually hear it and feel it.

Hello,

Please precise where you connect the subwoofer and where you connect the speakers (on which connectors).
