does anyone know if when you use an apc40 and an rmx on the same computer do you then have to run virtual dj and ableton live at the same time? are there any software conflicts and how powerful of a computer would you need for this? thank you.
Virtual DJ supports REWIRE, which would allow you to run Abelton Live as plugin of sort. Page 18 of the following guide explains how to proceed:

Note that you'll need Virtual DJ PRO FULL in order to do this.
Obviously, the more processing power and memory your system has, the better it will perform, but every system is particular and will need to be tweaked accordinly. Here is a guide to get you started on optimizing your system:
Thank you!
So is it possible to control the speed of playback from Ableton Live with tcv turntables that are hooked into an RMX?
If you assign your Rewire Out from ableton to a deck in virtual DJ, the Deck pitch fader will control the master tempo of Live, (the general BPM into live).
Unfortunatly, there's no timecode link beetween the two software, so you will have to launch your clips in live at the PERFECT moment, or use the nudge in Live to beatmatch your clip in Live with your Tracks in VDJ.
Second thing, don't forget to increase the Buffer of the RMX Soundcard.
I Tried with a MacBook Pro Core i5 2.4Ghz, 4Go DDR3 RAM, and I had some glitches/artefacts in the sound.
And Reduce the volume in all the Ableton Tracks, or put a limiter into all of them, because the littlest saturation clip in Ableton will make a very bad noise into the Virtual DJ Rewired sound....
