hi, long time since ive posted here. been busy on the mixvibes forum as im a moderator over there now
i just want to share with you a problem i have with the new hercules dj console series - 2011 hdjs 2 package that was released a few weeks ago.
ive never had any problem with using my rmx (in nearly 3 years) with virtualdj and now with mixvibes cross and crossdj.
what ive found is that when i use my rmx with this new driver package installed, after a few minutes i get a couple of loud audio crackles/hicups and the audio from channel 1 disappears. the track is still playing but with no audio. channel 2 is fine. this happens everytime ive tried the driver package out, which has been quite a few times
when i re-install the last released hercules dj console driver package everything is fine and i can use my rmx for hours with no problems. this is what im using now.
as it happens with mixvibes cross/cross dj and with virtualdj i believe its not dj software related. i use asio mode. ive tried adjusting the asio buffer to all sorts of figures but it still happens. nothing on my gig laptop (windows 7 home premium 32bit) has change since installing the new os about 15 months ago.
i not really concerned as i can use the last driver pakage with no problem but i would be rather interested in your views
Hello Jimmy,
I have not met the same issue, maybe because I use Windows 7 64-bit, maybe for another reason.
Can you check if the Service Pack 1 of Windows 7 is installed on your computer?
(Right-click on My computer > Properties: if Service pack 1 is installed, it is written on Windows information area.)
If service pack 1 is installed, can you check your USB bus power settings?
Even if they were properly set, the installation of Service Pack 1 may have changed them (it completely changed many settings on my computer without telling, Service Pack 1 installation has caused multiple small bugs on my computer, as for example Outlook search function no longer finding messages received after the installation of Service Pack 1).
Right-click on My computer > Properties > Device Manager > Universal Serial Bus controllers
- Made-right-click on the first line "USB Root Hub" and click "Properties"
- In-tab "Power Management" uncheck the box "allow computer to turn off this device to save energy"
- Click "OK" and close the dialog box
- Apply this solution on USB Root Hub lines.
Nothing on my gig laptop (Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit) has change since installing the new OS about 15 months ago.
Sorry Maxdjack, I forgot I installed Windows 7 Service Pack 1 a few months ago
I will check the USB power management when I get home. I'm at work at the moment, but I don't think this is the problem as my RMX uses the last driver package with SP1 just fine.
- Made-right-click on the first line "USB Root Hub" and click "Properties"
- In-tab "Power Management" uncheck the box "allow computer to turn off this device to save energy"
- Click "OK" and close the dialog box
- Apply this solution on USB Root Hub lines.
All boxes are unchecked, exactly how they have been since using DJ software and USB DJ devices
Can you try out inverting the outputs (use 3-4 for Master and 1-2 for preview) to see if you get the same behaviour ?
Can do, Phatso. No problem
Got a big workload for the next couple of days, so I'll report back after, mate
Sorry I haven't reported back, I did try my RMX again with the Hercules DJ console Series - 2011 HDJS 2 driver package and it happened again.
I visited your Tech support site, I noticed you guys had released a new Driver package, Hercules DJ console Series - 2011 HDJS 3. I installed the package a few days ago, and so far I haven't had any problems.
Case solved I think
