beatmatching on control air without autosync

hi guys,

im a total beginner in djing, so please dont mind me asking this. is it possible to learn beatmatching (pitching) on a hercules control air by hiding the bpm rate? i want to apply these skills on lets say pioneer cdjs.

Pioneer CDJs also also display the BPM rate. The only DJ player displaying no BPMs are vinyl turntables.
