hey im new to the site but i have been using the mk 2 for nearly 3 years and i just recently began transitioning over to the rmx.  i wanted to know if anyone has had problems with being able to online broadcast using flash streaming media.  i have been having trouble with this and i have tried different configuration but no luck, i am still unable to broadcast sound.

the flash media stream setup recognizes my hercules rmx soundcard and i set it to receive audio from the rmx soundcard but still no sound.  i am wondering, because asio is designed to only work with vdj will problems arise when attempting to send sound signal to other programs to include ie explorer and flash streaming server.

furthermore, this problem does not exist when i use my mk2 and i think the reason that it doesnt exist is because i can change the sound card interface to either wdm or asio, where as with rmx i can only use asio.

any suggestions from anyone out there would be greatly appreciated.  i have a weekly internet show and i would really like to begin using my rmx in conjunction with my time code vinyl.

by the way system specs:
virtual dj 5.2.1
latest rmx drivers released in dec 08.
win xp home sp3
2 gig ram
160 gb hdd
amd turion 2.0 ghz processor

i dont know about flash media stream, so a cant really help you on that side as far as configuration is concerned, but regarding vdj and the consoles setup, you must remember a few things:

- when in asio mode, a soundcard can only be used by one application at a time.

it is possible that an application may see both wdm and asio driver of a soundcard in its list of available device, but if asio is already in use by another program, wdm will not work if selected in the second program.

- vdj will only use the mk2 or rmx in asio if apply eq on external input is enabled in sound setup. uncheck the box and the console will default to wdm.

- when using timecoded vinyls, vdj will switch automatically either console in asio mode.

i will try to get a version of flash media stream to see how it work.

thanks phats!

i understand that my request is somewhat unusual,  i think what i will have to do is just run the console without using timecode this way i can just use wdm...im not sure if this will work but i am thinking it will because my mk2 was in wdm when i broadcasted with it through the flash media stream before, so my next question to you is this,
i am using the full registered version of virtual dj 5.2.1

when i attempt to change the hercules sound card drivers to wdm it always has wdm grayed out and it wont let me select it.  how can i change the rmx to wdm?

oh btw if you want to check out the flash stream you can go to stickam.com  there you can interface with flash streaming media without having to spend any money or go through any bs!  this is the same website im trying to broadcast to with my rmx.

so let me rephrase that part about vdj:

if you launch vdj with the dj console control panel open, you will notice that it automatically changes from wdm to asio, which is normal.

now if you go in vdjs sound setup, you configuration should look something like this:

- input : none

- output(s): headphone

-soundcard: dj console rmx

right underneath, there is a check box for apply eq on external input. uncheck that box, and you will notice that the control panel switched from asio to wdm. unless you change that back, vdj should now always start in wdm mode.

as for that website, ive seen other using the same flash interface, so this is definitely wdm only.
