very upset :/ i think my desktop may have done something to my rmx. have had my dj console rmx (steel) for almost a year.. was djing on my laptop earlier this morning. wanted to mix off of some music on my desktop so installed the drivers on it. when i plugged in my rmx to the desktop (during installation) the lights lit up but not all the way (they werent bright.. kinda fuzzy). so that was a bad sign right away. then after installation the computer didnt recognize the rmx. plugged it back into my laptop and now the laptop doesnt recognize the rmx. the blue lights dont even flash. just nothing happens. theres still an x in the taskbar icon. both laptop and desktop have windows 7, but like i said the rmx was just working this morning on the laptop and now after trying to install for desktop its not being recognized.
dont know what to do. tried reinstalling the drivers on the laptop, but same thing. very upset.. thanks for any help :/

thanks for the reply. yes. i get stuck @ step 9 b/c the computer doesnt see the console. there is no "dj console rmx" in the firmware updater under "info"
update: in device manager when i plug in my rmx. my windows will deactivate the usb universal host controllers assigned to that usb port. a yellow exclamation point will pop over the controller and when i go into it and look at "device status" it says
windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (code 43)
tried this on two different laptops, different usb ports, and different usb cords.
please help! 🙁

please let me know if you find any solution... already wrote hercules a bunch of times but they just keep on giving me this firmware update solution while holding the mic button..... which does not work since the hercules acts like it´s non-existant. no lights, no nothing..

did the problem happen suddenly or did you notice some strange behavior before the rmx stopped working ?
if you take a look at the usb port of the console, does it seem loose ? is there a certain play on the connector ?

the problem just happened suddenly, but occured after trying to setup the rmx to work with traktor, instead of with virtual dj like i was using it before...
i couldn´t get the mapping right and then after fiddling around with traktor, the lights just blinked like crazy. i was tired so i decided to continue the setup the next day. but next thing i know in the morning, no flashing lights, no lights at all. my 2 computers wont recognize it.. and yeah, basically a dead rmx 🙁

As mentionned previously, have you checked the console USB connector ?
