i love my hercules console rmx.

but one thing ive noticed is that when i turn my knobs, distortion comes out of my speakers. is this a ground loop isolation problem?

here are my specs:

console rmx hooked up to a presario laptop turion 1.6ghz 1gb ram fresh install of xp sp3 nothing else installed but vdj5 pro,

using a vintage pioneer rx-3500 amp in rough shape, but working.

it doesnt happen all the time, only after mixing for 10-20 mins, then i hear distortion coming out of my speakers when turning the knobs, and the jog wheels.

any help would be greatly apreciated!

it maybe, try running on your laptop battery, if the distortion is gone, then its a ground loop problem.

or you could try these setting, which i use when i use my rmx

especially the last pic. you may have you settings to high for you laptop.

tried running it on the laptop battery, problem still exists.

any recommendations? i can easily return this thing, and just might do since i cant make any demos without that damn noise while turning the knobs and adjusting the pitch.

yes, no effect.

running the rmx on the aiso mode got rid of the distortion, but now i have a new problem:

it skips when playing. it sounds like ipm pressing the pause and play button in a half second but im not.

what could be causing this? my cpu usage is like 20%...

this is frusterating.

edit: switching back to wdm mode got rid of the skipping problem. and the static problem seems to be gone as well.

im guessing its a software bug, but im going to buy a usb self powered hub (since my laptop is pretty old) and a ground isolator just to be safe.

i had the same problem a few weeks ago after installing vdj on my new laptop. i solved the problem by unchecking "safe mode" in the performances-tab of vdj. since then, problem solved !
