controller not working

hey guys,
recently bought a hercules 4-mx controller. everything is up to date. software & driver. however, the controller is not working with virtual dj. i cannot see anything move on the screen when moving on the controller. everything on the dj console is set to default as well. when plugged into my friends comp, it works. mine doesnt.

any help 

Can you verify in the DJ control panel is the MIDI channel is set to 1-2 ?
