controlling the mic volume on the rmx2

just using the rmx2 with virtual dj software for the first time and even though i have the mic volume turned all the way down, when i push the mic on button, the volume is way too high. any tips on how to adjust the mic talk over sensitivity on the rmx2? thanks for any help!
