hey everyone,

i have a hercules dj console 4-mx and ive been using it for quite some time now. however since ive owned it, the cue/mix knob does not function. the headphone jacks are stuck on the mix side so i am unable to hear a song when u cue it up. essentially mixing blind. any reason why this knob isnt functioning? using virtual dj le on vista for software. thanks!

the manhattan project

Are you using the following audio configuration in VDJ ?

- Input : Line-Ins or Microphone

- Output(s): Headphone

-Soundcard: DJ Console 4-Mx

What audio configuration were you using then ?

Can you verify that the knob is actually working, using the following procedure ?

PC:

MAC:

my previous config was
inputs: none
outputs: headphones
soundcard: dj console 4-mx

i changed the input as you suggested and it made no difference, just about to test the midi monitor

edit - midi monitor is not working when i open it i get an error code saying: Impossible de creer le fichier C:\Windows\system32\WINMM174.SYS.

then the monitor opens and reads nothing from the 4-mx.

then when i close the monitor i get another error code saying: Violation d`acces a l'adresse 00000000. Lecture de l'adresse 00000000.

As mentionned in the procedure, you need to run the test program as Administrator, otherwise you will indeed get this error (the program is a bit old but still works).

i had to re-load it a couple times to get it to work right. the midi monitor is picking up the cue/mix knob. Now when I use VDJ LE the cue/mix knob is working but when i dial it to the cue side theres no sound (you cant hear the cue song playing)

As far as versions are concerned, are you using the latest update for VDJ LE (v7.05 b370), as well as the most recent drivers for the console (2012.HDJS.3)?

Obviously, you've enabled CUE Select (Left or Right Deck) on one of the decks when the set the Monitor knob to the CUE position ?

What if you enable them with your mouse through the interface instead ?

Regarding the audio configuration, Headphone is set to Master: Chan 1&2/ Headphone: Chan 3&4, correct ?

VDJ was out of date, updated and it works now thank you!
