you can obviously connect your rmx to mixing board, but what kind of configuration are you looking for precisely ?

what do you mean exactly when you say that you want more equalizer ?

i come from germany, i dunno all words for it, so sorry for my english :d

on the dj-console, there are buttons to equalize the tracks (treble, medium and bass). i think there are mixingdesks which have more of these buttons...maybe three just for the treble and three for medium and bass...and so on.

most eq on mixing console will have 3 band (low/mid/ high) or 4 band (low/ low mid/ hi mid/ high).

what you are probably refering to are known as parametric eq:

the 2 additionals knobs allow you to select the bandwitdh (q) and cut/boost the select frequency, which obviously offer more precision.

as for connecting you console to the mixer, it depends how your software is configured and how you want to work, but here is an example if you are using the soundcard to feed 2 channels to the mixer:

- configure your software so that channel 1/2 is for deck a, and 3/4 for deck b

- connect output 1/2 of the console to channel 1 of the mixer, and output 3/4 to channel 2.

depending on the type of mixer, i would recommand using the 1/4 jack (+4 dbu).

from this point, you must now use your mixer for heaphone preview, volume and eq.

hi everyone im new to the mixing world and just have one query and that is how to silence the vocals of one track/silence the beat of another track so that they blend in well to mix together. i use a toshiba laptop, dj control mp3 e2 equipment and virtual dj. i tried messing with the treble, medium, and bass knobs, but it doesnt do anything but just deepen or lighten the sound. any thoughts?

hello,

it depends on the type of music you play: in general, you cut vocals in cutting mediums with the eq medium button, and you cut the beats in cutting bass with the eq bass button.

to blend your 2 tracks, you should in general
- cut the bass on the track whose vocals you want to keep,
- cut the medium and treble on the track whose beats you want to keep
and mix both music in setting the cross-fader at the centre.

but,
- if a voice has a low frequency (as leonard cohen) or goes through a compressor (as eminem), then a part of the voice is in the bass range, and you lose all or part of the voice when you cut the bass,
-  if the beat comes from a bass guitar rather than from drums, then the beat is in the medium and you cannot remove beats from vocals with an eq setting
then you need a specific processing on your audio track before mixing (audio editors as audacity or wavosaur include a vocal remover).

Hello,
