hey guys,
i have recently bought  the hercules dj control mp3 e2 and i have downloaded and installed all of the update drivers from the hercules website. after doing this when i try and load up vdj djc edition it tells me that the controller has not been detected and to plug it in and start again. i have tried using a different cable to connect the decks and i have tried uninstalling the software many times and re-installing it. in the toolbar the hercules dj series control panel icon has a red x over it dont know if that has anything to do with it. any advice would be appreciated cheers

It is obvious that your controller did not install correctly. Can you verify what exactly is wrong in Device Manager, ?

Have you tried different USB ports on the computer with the same results ?

Try reinstalling the drivers following the steps this procedure:

in my device manager the DJ control mp3 e2 MIDI is fine but the mp3 e2 bulk has a yellow triangle on it and when opened says "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)" i have tried using the second procedure

Please verify the version of the file

These files are hidden, so you'll probably have to change your Folder viewing options to access them.

Normally, the version of the file should be

/* Style Definitions */
table.MsoNormalTable
{mso-style-name:"Table Normal";
mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0;
mso-tstyle-colband-size:0;
mso-style-noshow:yes;

mso-ansi-language:#0400;
mso-fareast-language:#0400;
mso-bidi-language:#0400;}

1.9.7600.16385. Anything older than this is most probably the cause of the problem.

It is version 1.7.6001.0    Can i update it?

It is possible, but a little complicated.

Uninstall the driver package before starting

1) Start cmd.exe as *Administrator*,

- Right-click on your desktop and select NEW > Shortcut
- In the window that appears, type CMD, then next then Finish.
- Right-click the new shortcut created on your desktop and select Run as administrator

2) Enter the following lines:

takeown /f C:\Windows\System32\drivers\Wdf01000.sys

takeown /f C:\Windows\System32\drivers\WdfLdr.sys

icacls C:\Windows\System32\drivers\Wdf01000.sys /grant <yourusername>:f

icacls C:\Windows\System32\drivers\WdfLdr.sys /grant <yourusername>:f

3) Overwrite the files in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ with the new ones provided here:

4) Reboot the computer.

5) Install the latest driver package as you normally would

Let me know if you have any problems
