hi, ive recently purchased the djcontrol mp3 le however it is not being recognised by virtual dj pro 7. i have installed the drivers but it does not respond in vdj pro. it works fine in djuced.
i am running mac os version 10.6.8 snow leopard.
please help as i do not want to have to send this back.
thankyou.
edit: may be useful to know the device is not showing up in my audio midi setup. but is showing up in my usb section of system profiler.
As the MP3 LE is not natively supported by Virtual DJ, you'll need to apply the custom mapping available from the support site:
http://ts.hercules.com/eng/index.php?pg=view_files&gid=17&fid=61&pid=309&cid=10
However, I am I bit worried by the fact that the controller does not appear in Audio MIDI Setup.
Does the MP3 LE control panel work?
Thankyou for responding. The MP3 LE control panel works perfectly well with other softwears such as djucced and mixxx. If I attempt to custom map it i can get it to work with Virtual Dj however I cannot seem to map each side of the deck seperately.
I have tried copying the custom mapping from the support site into the correct folder but the mapping does not appear in virtual dj. The .xml files are in the correct place but nothing appears in preferences > mappers for virtual dj.
Thankyou for your help, really want to get this sorted.
And you are using the using the latest update of VDJ PRO Full (v7.4.1)?
If I remember correctly, the mapping was created using v7.3, so you would at least need that version of it to work.
Regarding the mapping process in VDJ, once a function is assigned, it should automatically reflects on the second deck. I'm not sure how they manage to know the correct MIDI assignment to use, but it seems to work most of the time.
If you want to go deeper into VDJ mapping, I would advise to read their documentation on the subject:
Hi again, Thankyou very much for your help. I've decided to just custom map the whole deck. It should be fine since i'm only really properly getting into mixing. I'll use it in conjunction with the keyboard for some effects and effectively have a larger deck on the go haha. Your responses have been extremely helpful.
Thankyou very much. Have a nice day.
Glad I could help.
