hi,

i have the hercules universal dj controller and djuced 40 (latest version) installed on my macbook pro which has 2.4 ghz, 4gb ram and an ssd.

i noticed that when i record the time in the bottom left only increases by 1 second around every 5 seconds. does anyone else have this problem or does anyone know of a solution?

this didnt happen on my windows laptop - only on my mac which i switched to a couple of days ago.

also i have another question - is it possible to to have djuced to save recordings as mp3 files?

thanks.

Hi !

I have the same issue with the wrong timer, but recording is still ok ! (reported to the DJUCED Team)

Are you on El Capitan ?

I think this picture can explain the problem Smile :

You can't record in .mp3 files with DJUCED.

I always save in .wav (the first option) for two reason :
1- It takes less RAM on the computer
2- I prefer to encode in iTunes frow .wav to .mp3 (so i can put some Cover and the mp3 tags correctly).

You can change the mp3 settings in iTunes preferences.

Hello Shivampaw,

1) Recording time counter
I don't duplicate the recording time counter issue in Yosemite (Mac OS 10.10).
Please confirm your Mac is in El Capitan.

2) Recording in MP3
Djuced 40 does not provide this feature, but if you want to get MP3 files, I think it is always better to record in non compressed format first (WAV), and convert in MP3 afterwards.
iTunes is great to convert audio files in MP3, the process is as follows

a) Set MP3 as default import format in iTunes
- Run iTunes
- In iTunes, go to Preferences

- In Preferences > General, click the 'Import Settings' button

- Set 'Import Using' to 'MP3 Encoder'
- Use next drop-down menu to choose the MP3 settings :
 you can select Good = 128 kbps/ High = 160 kbp / Higher = 192 kbps
 or Customs for more compression rates (16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 80, 96, 112, 128, 160, 192, 224, 256 or 320 kbps)
- Click OK, and OK again to leave Preferences.

b) Convert your audio files in MP3
- Import your audio files in iTunes,
- In iTunes, go to the Music list,
- select the file(s) you want to convert and Control+click (or touch with 2 fingers on touchpad or right-click if you use a PC mouse),
- in the menu, select "create an MP3 version".

The MP3 file(s) will be created in the music list: the file(s) in the original format also remain there, so you see 2 versions of the same song in iTunes music library. You can drag it (them) out to save the MP3 file(s) elsewhere.

Yes I am on El Capitan.

Thanks for the tip on iTunes conversion!

Lastly does DJuced have an auto gain feature?

Yes DJUCED40 has a nice autogain.
But it's applied only when a track has been already analysed by DJUCED.
That's why the gain button is moving by it self when loading tracks.
You can disable the autogain in the settings if you want.
