hello hunter918,

1) you must detail your complete configuration, for example dell dimension 5150 - core duo 3 ghz - 2 gb ram - windows xp sp3 - radeon x300 se graphic card with 128 mb ram - hercules dj console rmx with 2010_hdjs_2 drivers - virtualdj pro 6.1 set with dj console rmx in asio 16-bit 44.1khz with output 1-2 set as master and output 3-4 set as preview - dj console rmx control panel set on 6ms asio buffer size.

2) please type exactly your error message and write at which moment you get it, and, of course in which software version: for example, when i run  virtualdj 6.1 pro on my windows xp sp2 computer, i get an error message "error in the asio driver" in a pop up just after the virtualdj first panel. once i close the pop up, i check my dj console rmx control panel to see if i am in asio or in wdm, i set the dj console rmx in asio, and i have no poroblem to run virtualdj.

First of all hello! Which controller do you have, which OS do you have. Make shure that you have the controller set to asio instead of wdm.

Hiya drzinc,

I have the Hercules DJ Console RMX.

I am running Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002, Service Pack 3

I have an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU 3.2Ghz and 2 GB of RAM

I did open the little icon called Hercules DJ Series Control Panel and made sure it was se to ASIO instead of WDM,

But when i launch the virtual dj application that came bundled i noticed that it switches the control panel back to WDM

and then gives the "Error in the Asio driver" message , Ive tried clicking back to ASIO and that doesnt rsolve the issue.

In virtual DJ all buttons and knobs are responsive to the controller except the Jog wheels when I move them around the program does not respond.

This is frustrating

Cool Heres a happy update!

I cant beleive it was something this stupid, After many attempts of install/uninstall  ....going as far as uninstalling Service pack 3 for windows xp (in case this was causing the problem the service pack was released the same week as the console).

I was about to give up then had the idea of trying it on another computer , so i headed to my brothers ...... within 3 minutes literally ..EVERYTHING was working like a charm ..... So i asked myself ....WHAT could be so different on my computer that its not allowing this to work ? my brothers PC is slightly slower then mine CPU wise ...... everything else is the same....

And then it dawned on me ...... When i installed this on friday I had plugged the console into a USB hub ...... I thought this wasnt a problem as my hub is POWERED from a wall outlet and doesnt depends on the PC .... I unplugged from the hub and back into a USB slot directly into the PC ...and BAM!  No problems anymore..... Ive only played with it for about an hour .... but everything seemed to work fine with about 4ms latency on ASIO driver.

Although I have to admit wiring up a system at a club would have taken far less time LOL .... 3 days for such a stupid little detail was very frusrating....who knows maybve i just needed a good nights rest ...hahaha ...CHeERs and thanks again for the help drzinc!

Hello DJ Des,

The bug you met is strange since DJ Console Rmx works smoothly via a USB hub: I use mine generally plugged to a USB hub, with no problem yet.

I agree Maxdjack,

it was an odd thing Undecided ....but my brother told me that not all Hubs work the same the one i got was about 40$ for 4 slots ..... but it is a generic brand from BEST BUY stores here called Dynex , I probably should have gone with a brand name like Belkin for abut 15$ more. The important thing is the controller works now.

Thanks for your reply I appreciate it Laughing

Hello DJ DES,

You should test if your low cost USB hub works better on DJ Console Rmx when you replace its power supply with the power supply of the better hub, your problem may be due to a not very good power adapter. If the low cost hub becomes OK with the power supply of the better hub, then buying a good power adapter regulated is half the price of replacing your hub.

Hey DJ DES, I've experience the same problem when opening the VDJ Pro you get a message about the ASIO error. Now i figure it out to a point, when ever you disconnect the RMX from the computer i think the drivers get confuse or corrupt, so i stop disconnecting it from the system, because if i disconnect it and start playing music with winamp, the i close winamp and try to start the VDJ i get all sort of problems. At one time i had a problem when ever i connect the RMX it would start looking for drivers...i think i got the solve too with the about solution

VDJ will give that error if the audio card isn't available, or has changed since it was last run.  All you have to do is go into the settings panel, and reset your soundcard settings. That should get you cleared up. 😉

If you always plug the RMX into the same usb port on the computer (or plug the powered hub into the same usb port on the computer) and it's connected and recognized by the operating system prior to opening VDJ you most likely won't ever see that error message.

Hey there,

I just received mine yesterday afternoon with the same issue. I was upgrading form the MK2 version and ran into the same issues. Here's what I did:
1. Run Windows Updates
2. Disable the onboard sound card - Right click on 'My Computer' go to properties, then 'Device Manager'. Scrolled down to "Sound...etc", right
click on the onboard 'RealTek' and disabled.
3. Go to control panel, uninstall the Hercules DJ Series Driver from 'AddRemove Programs'
4. Reboot.
5. After startup download the updated drivers from the Hercules Web Site...this will install the newest drivers as well as do a firmware update
on your RMX if it needs it.
6. Reboot.
7. After startup, install the VDJ5 Console edition even if you already have PRO.(For some reason this sets the button configuration and is part of
fixing the driver problem).
8. Launch the 'Hercules DJ Control Panel' and choose 'ASIO' instead of 'WDM', then start VDJ Pro.
My setup:
Thermaltake LanBox Case with 5 cooling fans
Asus PGX Motherboard with Intel P4 3.0 Ghz, 2 gig of DDR2 RAM
ATi x1650 512 MB DDR2 ram video card for graphics offload
320 GB SATA WD Hard Drive 7200 RPM

Hope this helps!

Virtual DJ setup is very easy, just select the RMX icon and finish!

RMX in WDM

RMX in ASIO (this mode enable the external inputs and time code)

Have you tried the ASIO4ALL update that you can find in the Virtual DJ plugins http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/view.html?type=tool&page=2
