the news just dropped: alphatheta (owner of pioneer dj) buys serato (at the time of writing this still waiting for government approval). on the short term it!s highly unlikely anything will change significantly, but i!m curious how does this affects hercules. djuced is there for us and it!s a really impressive piece of software (and i do like it), but since serato is quite an important player on the dj software market it would be interesting to read even unofficial thoughts of hercules representatives - and of course the members of this community as well.
I am new to this DJ software thing but here are my thoughts;
1. serato is the one who makes the money in this arrangement with hercules inpulse controllers.
2. serato cutting off income from Hercules console hardware support makes NO sense.
3. pioneer's parent company AlphaTheta doesn't love Pioneer as a brand more than Serato as a brand.
4. You can also use your Hercules controller with MIXX, and with Traktor Pro 3.
