having had one of the old mk11s where you could split the headphone facility to preview and exclude all from the other deck,i am bitterly disappointed to find having purchased the 4-mix controller that this cant be done.or is it me,please help before i pull the rest of my hair out.

Indeed, the headphone monitor switch of the DJ Console MK2 was special, but the CUE/MIX monitor knob used on the 4-Mx (which by the way is identical to what you'll find on most DJ controllers and mixers) is no less flexible:
- When in the CUE position, you will hear the deck for which the CUE SELECT has been activated (A, B or both)
- When in the MIX position, you will hear what comes out of Output 1-2, according to the crossfader position.
- If you want to hear a bit of both (when preparing a track for example), simply put down the middle position.
