hi, ive been using my hercules dj consol mk2 for nearly 2 years without any problems till... last week. two weeks ago i installed newest drivers and in last week i went on my friends party with it. i installed consol on his netbook( win 7 ultimate) and played all night without any problems. after a few days i wanted to play a little at home so i connected my mk2 to a pc ive been normally using for it( win xp sp3). firmware updater showed up and started an automaticly udate. for the first time it stopped at firmawe update and after two, three unplugs and re-plugs ist showed: http://ts.hercules.com/faqs/eng/her_eng_00383.pdf i followed the instructions probably about 20 times now and i cant get a boot undrer current firmware controller - i get 0(pic, djc), than im able to update audio firmware but when i try to update firmware controller i get an error: error updating controller part: 0x0000010b (fail during update process of psoc). situation replays on my netbook (win 7 ultimate).
when i connect consol to my pcs any led flashes, but computers recognizes it( a dj consol series icon appeart on windows bar). consol doesnt work with my virtual dj pro and again the automatic update starts and stops on an error.
maybe someone had some problems of the same kind? i would be very thankful for help.
ive contacted hercules support by email and they advised me to contact service.
i dont know what to do. my mk2 is over warranty coverage and i dont have any authorized repair service in poland. is it really broken?
p.s. i can send some print screens
Could you try the same procedure, but when you get to Step #6, instead of holding ther Talk Over button, press button 1-2-3 on Deck A, and go on with the procedure.
Let's see if this helps.
Thank you for your reply. I followed your instructions but unfortunately with the same result.
Hello,
Can you try the same process as suggested by Phatso on another PC?
Hi, I've just tryied it on my second Pc (Win XP Sp3) and a trick with 1-2-3 button on deck A helped me get a boot under Current column. Thank You both! But when I get back to a firmware procedure( http://ts.hercules.com/faqs/eng/her_eng_00383.pdf ) and make a connection with Talk-Over button pressed, at 13th step Open ctrl button is not grayed out, so regarding to the insturction procedure isn't complete. Even if I manually select Controller Firmware under Flash column within the manual updater, then click Open ctrl and choose one of two appropriate options: MK2_PSOC1.djc or MK2_PSOC2.djc after Update I get an error: Error updating controller part: 0x0000010B (Fail during update process of PSOC) again. Like before after computer restart Firmware Updater can't upgrade the controller firmware showing error: Unable to determine controller type for this DJ Console Mk2. Can I do something wrong?
Ok, lets back up a bit.
By using the 1-2-3 procedure, under Current, you get Boot for the Controller Firmware, but what appears for the Audio Firmware ?
If it is a number, can you click on Open Audio, select the file, and proceed to updating ONLY the Audio Firmware ?
maybe you need to des-install your virtual dj and install it again
@DJ Denaser
This problem is related to the hardware (the controller ) and has nothing to do with VDJ.

Yes by using the 1-2-3 procedure, under Current i get Boot for the Controller Firmware, and a number 15 for the Audio Firmware. Under Avaible i get "-" and 15(Full). Nothing is selected under Flash column.
I can click on Open Audio and select the file. I have to tick Firmware Audio under Flash then i can click Update.

What happen at this point ?
Is the update performed or do you get an error ?
1- If the update is performed (it goes to 100% and you are asked to disconnect and reconnect the console):
Leaving the update open, disconnect and reconnect the console without pressing 1-2-3 or the Talk Over button
What informations are now displayed by the updater under Current ?
At this point the update performs without showing any error. When it asks to disconnect and reconnect without pressing any buttons i do so. Then the updater shows under Current: 0(boot) for the Firmware Controller and 15 for the Firmware Audio.
Good.
Now from there, try updating the Firmware Controller.
I would select the PSOC 2 file ( as these are the ones that have been produced the most).
Let's hope this works.
And from now problems start... When i choose PSOC 2 or 1 and click Update the updater starts and after a few seconds shows an error: Error updating controller part: 0x0000010B (Fail during update process of PSOC)
Since this is always the case, then there is probably corruption on that firmware that prevents it from being updated. At this point, there isn't much that can be done.
Do you think a service can repair it? Or should i look for a new console? I'm a bit disappointed about whole situation. If i'll have to buy a new one probably it won't be the successor mk4. Most likely Numark Mixtrack Pro.
You could maybe try to contact Tech Support to see if there is the possibility to send in your console to have it reprogrammed to it's original state, but that may not be garanteed to work if there is corruption.
