can anyone tell me how to set up for the 4mx dj console ? i have install the driver n virtual dj from the cd in the box.. but my 4mx is not working... i cant control with the 4mx.... only the cross fader is working... other button all funtionless.... the play button is no light.. only the deck a & b is light up.... please help !!!! thankssss
there is no hercules dj console 4-mx under my (sound, video and games controllers ) category..

dj console 4-mx is supported on most cpus, but if you can take the time to complete in your profile your configuration, it will be much easier:
- computer: brand and model / cpu / ram
- usb connection (which usb port)
- operating system (complete system description, for example windows xp sp3 32-bit, mac os 10.6.6 32-bit....)
- virtualdj version: is it virtualdj 7.0.2 le 4-mx or is it the pro version of virtualdj in test mode?
im using asus x80 now window vista ultimate service pack 2 2gb ram intel pentium dual cpu t2330 @ 1.60ghz 32-bit operating system thx for the help !!!
so have you tried reinstalling the most recent driver, strictly following these instructions:

so eventhough the console was not installed correctly, you still had access to the dj control panel to notice the midi channel was correct ?
im installing the driver from the cd that come with the 4mx n yes i follow the instruction with the link thr is not working....

my previous question was regarding your confirmation that the midi channel was set to channel 1-2.
if the console was not installed correctly, with all the devices appearing in device manager, then the dj control panel shouldnt be available.
how then did you determine that the midi channel was correct?
ya i set it at the dj icon at the task beside the clock thr.. the midi channel is set to 1-2 i try to download the latest version and install 1st ... thanks for the help...

Go to the DJ control panel (near the clock), in the Advanced tab, make sure the MIDI Channel is set to 1-2

The 4-Mx will work on any PC.
Let's look at the basics then:
1) It is installed correctly ?

I would presume that it is if you have access to the conrtrol panel, but let's check anyway.
2) Are all the controls beside the crossfader working outside of VDJ ?

With this test, you can also verify and confirm that the 4-Mx is transmiting on Channel 1-2.
If everything seems to work as it should, then:
- I would uninstall VDJ, and download the latest update (v7.02) from the VDJ web site ( registration of your serial number is necessary).
- You may also wan to install the latest driver (4.HDJS.2010) if you haven't already.
