it came with a cd correct? do not plus the controller in until it tells you too. insert cd and install the drivers. sometime w mac it doesnt auto run. so double click on the cd when you see it on the desktop. install the drivers first. towards then end it will ask u to plug in your console. plug it in drivers will be installed. then after thats installed. click on install vdj install that. boom your almost done. then you will see a new icon that says hercules dj control panel. click on that then ull see the hercules logo. click on that and it will take you to a page w the new drivers. the new version is 2.45 double click on that from the site. let it download then run it just like you did when you installed the drivers. also make sure your console is unplugged during this. it will ask you to plug it back in when its ready. once thats downloaded and installed you are ready to mix my friend. if you have any questions i check the forum quite often so please let me know

...Sorry, I dint know I had to buy a Mixer, I thought the "Hercules Control Steel" and a Sound Card or Audio Interface was all I needed.
So my question still is: is a "Sound Card" and a "Audio Interface" the same thing with two different names? or are they different items? and if they are different items, do I need them both?, do I need a mixer too?

Thanks.

To clear out some confusion:

- A soundcard is an audio interface.

- The DJ Console Rmx and the DJ Control Steel are both MIDI controllers. The first integrates an audio interface, the second doesn't.

- DJ MIDI controllers are often refered to as "MIDI mixers" since they allow the user to control the virtual mixer of the software (Volume, EQ, gain, etc). A conventional hardware mixer will basically allow multiple input sources to be summed up to one general output (the mix).

Now Juzu, in order to fully exploit your software, you will need a soundcard that has at least 2 outputs (one for the mix, the other for headphone preview of the upcoming track). The best choices for something simple are the Native Instruments Audio DJ 2

and Numark DJ IO
