so, i bought this hercules djcontrol mp3 le from a guy, but i didnt get the cd. ive tried installing virtual dj, djuced 18, and djuced 40. they all say the same thing. device is not detacted or it works for 5 minutes and then stops. at first, i thought it was the drivers, but i installed that. now i think its the midi mapping. im so confused and frustrated. what do i have to do to get this to start working or is it useless? please help me asap.
p.s. - i have a pc working windows 7.

Do you have confirmation from the previous owner that the controller was effectively working?
Did you install the latest drivers, following this procedure ?

Once done, did you verify that the MP3 LE is indeed correctly installed, as indicated in the following document ?

a) If everything seems correct there, then try using is as a MIDI controller:

b) if however the MP3 LE is not installed as indicated, or other components display problems (yellow !), then reinstallation might be necessary.
As for softwares, note that only DJUCED 18 will work with the MP3 LE. As for VDJ, you'll need version PRO FULL and the mapping provided here:

Ok. Thanks for this. I followed all the instructions and installed it good. Then I downloaded DJUCED 18 and it says "DJ Device designed for DJUCED 18 not detected" and "MIDI Input device is not present." I just followed the instructions word for word. Did I download the wrong DJUCED 18 version or something? Please help me. Again.
So, just to be clear:
- The MP3 LE IS installed correctly and appears properly in Device Manager?
- You can test it as functional in the MIDI test program?
- The latest version of DJUCED 18 you installed is v1.0.91 ?

Regarding Windows, is this an official version ? I ask the question because we've seen many case where users of "optimized" Windows were not able to use MIDI controllers properly...
