i just received my hercules instinct. everything works fine except for the crossfader that keeps jumping around on its own.
i have updated my drivers, firmware and software. still no luck.
i mapped my device using the midi monitor and noticed that the crossfader accepts the exteme values of 0 to 127 (extreme left to right) and maintains that value. when i move or rest my crossfader anywhere in the middle, the value resets to any random value between 71 to 59 on its own.
also when i use my right volume fader, the crossfader also shows some change. i dont know how to resolve this issue. is this a hardware issue or a software? how do i resolve it?

Either the crossfader is dirty, or there is a physical problem with it.
I would first try to blow some compressed air into it, then use contact cleaner to see if this helps solves the problem.
If this doesn't work, please contact your retailler to obtain a replacement unit.
