im using the mk4 with traktor pro 2.. everything is working fine using the download from the hercules web site.. except for the two jog wheels.. is there some sort of setting i can change or fix to get them working???
First, obviously make sure the jog wheel locks (underneath the unit) are set to the UNLOCK position.
Next , the profile loaded in Traktor, the jog wheel will have two functions, as do CDJs:
- When using the outside of the wheel, without applying pressure, then wheels will be used for Pitch Bend.
- Withe the SCRATCH buttons ON, and applying pressure to the wheel, you will be able to scratch.
sorry but this did not help.. is there some sort of setting i can check in the settings menu.. i can use the the jog wheel to jog through the music.. but but nothing happins when using the scratch button and jog wheels on the mian screen? even the CTRL icon on the top of the screen flashes when i turn the jog wheel, so i know the traktor software is identifying it. Sorry, my mistake. Somehow I got confused between the 4-Mx and Mk4 🙁
For the Mk4, with the SCRATCH button ON, in order to scratch, you need to press and hold the CUE button + move the jog.
Ha understood.. but jog wheels still not working.. they dont do anything when i move them, only when i look through files they work.. the scratch button works because when its on and i press the cue button its seems to go into scratch mode.. its as if traktor is not configured to work with the jog wheels on the main screen.. sorry and thanks for the replys 😉
So they do work for scratching (Scratch button On), Pitch bend (Scratch button Off) and navigating through the files.
These are the 3 functions that are currently assigned to the jog wheels.
What other functions are you expecting them to do "on the main screen" exactly ?
no they dont work for scratching, i just no the scratch button is working because the cue button changes when scratch button is on.. basically i want to be able to use the jog wheels for slowly moving the tune foward so i can get it on cue and for matching the beats when there slightly off.. but they do nothing in terms of when a song is playing or not playing.. ha they dont work! i recently used virtual dj but uninstalled and now using traktor, but they worked fine with virtual dj. i also uninstalled/reinstalled the mk4 drivers because i thought there would of been a conflict from using virtual dj first.. everythig works fine except for the jog wheels.. its really annoying, im sure im annoying u now aswell ha!
Let's confirm a few things then:
- Are you using the latest version of Traktor (v.2.13)?
The MIDI profile requires at least version 2.12 to work properly. Earlier versions may not be compatible or able to use the profile properly.
If you are however using v2.12 or v2.13, then I would recommend reloading the profile into Traktor, as this is how the jogs should work:
Scratch button OFF:
- When the song is not playing, you can use the jog to search and move through the song
- When the song is playing, the jog is used for Pitch bend
Scratch button On:
- When the song is not playing, you can use the jog to search and move through the song
- When the song is playing, the CUE + jog is used for scratching
When pressing FILE or FOLDERS:
- You can use the jog to search and move through the browser
yes i am using verson 2.12 i have tried many times loading the profile again into traktor.. however i will download again and try..

Once you'll have downloaded and leloaded the profile again, please checkthe following:
- Open Traktor's configuration menu and go to the Controller Manager
- When you press the SCRATCH button on the console, the Modifier State 3 should change from 0 to 1, and vice versa

Try the following to be sure you reload the profile correctly:
- With the DJ Console MK4 profile selected as Device, click the Edit... menu, then select Delete.
- Click Yes for the popup window that will appear.
- Once done, only the default keyboard mapping should be present.
Reload the MK4 profile as indicated in the document.
Any difference ?
i have had exactly the same problem with the mp3 e2, and i have done all the steps you have said to the other user, including the last one... and it is still not working.

- You are using the mapping available from the support site ?

- Which version of Traktor 2 Pro are you using?
As indicated, it must be v2.12 or superior to work.
- You've tested the controller outside of Traktor to confirm that the jog wheel are working ?
