hey everyone,
i am gran from the philippines. i just got my hercules dj mp3 e2 yesterday. my problem is i notice some slight noise on my output speakers when i operate on the unit (turning the knobs, jogwheels, and sliders). i already updated my drivers, too.
what should i do?
thanks in advance!
I think I found a solution, reading thru the forums I discovered I should turn "safe mode" off on the performance tab in my vdj 6.0.2 pro. then I also downloaded asio4all, will try it later.
Thanks!
This is a known issues that was solved in later version of VDJ (v6.05 for the MP3 e2 bundled version and Pro)
You are doing better than me, I bought it & can't get it to work. It has software conflicts with a newer version which I can't seem to get around.
Can you be more precise ?
When I am installing it says cannot install due to newer version.
That's when installing the drivers or Virtual DJ ?
For the drivers, since you already have an Rmx and you had already installed the latest drivers available on the support site, simply connect the MP3 e2 which will be automatically detected (both consoles use the same drivers, so no need to install what you had on the CD...)
As for VDJ, during the installation process, I would suggest creating a new folder for the installation of a different version, as conflict can occur.
I would have thought that because when I first took it out of the box, I plugged it right up & got no response even though the controller lit up. I started VDj & there was nothing, no response at all. I unplugged it & replugged. I figured then I better take it from start to finish and tried to install software anyway. That is when I got the problem.
I didn't know what to do from that point. I tried this for 3 days with no sort of reponse from the machine so I boxed it back up & I am debating on taking it back because my RMX is also down.
Any possibilities of trying on another computer ?
If so, then run the latest driver installed (2.HDJS.2010), and when asked, connect both Rmx and MP3 e2, then make sure they are both installed correctly, as show in these documents:

http://ts.hercules.com/faqs/eng/her_eng_00390.pdf
If everything seems OK, then test them as MIDI controllers:

If this is also fine, then move on to trying VDJ. Are you using the Pro version ?
Hello Ace,
You should:
1) make sure your Windows or Mac OS login account is an administrator account,
2) make sure you switch off any firewall program during the installation of the DJ Console Rmx drivers,
3) make sure you have the last version of DJ Console Rmx drivers: it is 2.22 for Mac OS and 2010_HDJS_2 for Windows,
4) and OF COURSE accept to give a complete, detailed and extensive description of your problem, instead of believing we see your computer: we cannot see your computer, so if you don't detail COMPLETELY what happens on your computer, we cannot help you.
We don't even know whether your problem is a DJ Console Rmx driver installation issue, a DJ Console Rmx detection issue, or a VirtualDJ issue, so please:
1) describe your computer, and of course give the complete operating system (the lazy answer 10.6 or Snow Leopard is useless, a complete operating system is for example 10.6.2, the last figure is very important to diagnose the issue)
2) quote EXACTLY the error messages, don't make a summary, quote it withour changing 1 letter,
3) run DJ Console Rmx Control Panel, go to the about tab if it works, and list the versions you read (driver, firmware).
I will try it when I get home tonite if I don't return this thing today. I was quite disappointed with the features on it. No headphones input, no out spaces (rca out or speaker out). It seems really flimsy and looks like a kids toy.
Anyway, I'll let you know if I keep it.
Didn't you look at the features on the box ( or the web site) and noticed that it was only a controller ?
If you wanted audio inputs/Outputs with a similar alyout, the Mk4 would have been more appropriate.
True, I grabbed it out of desperations since the pace I bought it from pretty much told me that they could not help me with the RMX I had wasn't working at the time. It was a spur of the moment buy. I needed something since I was having some people over and it was so many days since I did any mixing.
I am still trying to figure it out. Light is still coming on, I can't get it to move anything on screen or make music play. I'll give myself tonight to play around with it and see if I can get something going.
Well, when you do, follow the instructions I provided previously to test everything and let us know how it goes.
Ok, I took the controller out of the box & it turned right on. I turned on VDJ, it turned right on.I set mp3 on platter & pushed the play button on the controller, nothing happened.
Unplugged controller, shut down VDj. I re-plugged controller, started VDJ again, put mp3 on platter, hit play again on controller & nothing & then pressed play on VDJ & music played. I touched controller to move mp3 back & forth and it worked. Ok, so it was working & I was trying to figure out how to use headphones while with a Mac.
I read instructions throughly but can not figure out for the life of me how to get sound through headphones. Since this is vital I need help with this. THis deceides wether this is a keeper or not.
I changed my settings so many times & it became such a pain.
I am using an iMac.
If you are doing all this with the Rmx:
- In System Preferences > Sound, make sure the Rmx is NOT the default audio device of your MAC.
If this is the case, it would explain why when you load a track it doesn't play.
- I'm guessing you are using the latest PRO version, so the audio configuration should be as follow:
Input : None
Output(s): Headphone > Master : Output 1&2 Headphone: Output 3&4
Soundcard: DJ Console Rmx
For the LE verison included with the console, you don<t even need to configure anything
Connect your speakers to the back (Ouput 1/2) and your headphone to Headphone output of the Rmx
If you are doing all this with the Mp3 e2
- If you only have the iMac soundcard, it will not be possible to have both main mix and headphone output, since this would requiore a soundccard that as 2 stereo output (such as the Rmx)
Ok thanks. I guess I'll pack it up & return it.
I will be having my RMX back in a few weeks anyway, I'll just have to wait until then.
thank you dj phatso for your response on my issue, I currently have the vdj pro 6.0.2.
Anyway I am really enjoying my e2. I am planning to get the rmx in the next few months.
I do have another inquiry, I have traktor pro 1.2 (i think), how do i get it to play with my e2?
Thanks in advance!
