hi all,
im looking for an up to date standard midi map for using a hercules rmx controller with traktor pro 1.2.7 (r9529).
im looking to broadcast live online and be able to monitor my mic in my headphones, so im not sure a 2 or 4 deck set up would be required, using a 3rd deck as a line in to manage my mic.
ive tried using various maps (herculess latest traktor 1.2 map version is out of date according to ni) and several others made by users on here, but the controller is not responding. according to the traktor manual, i should see a midi icon in the master display bar, but its not visible. i have added the device in preferences (audio settings and controller manager), but despite numerous attempts to modify the older map, it fails to respond.
i am using the latest hercules drivers (4.hdjs.2010) and it works correctly in vdj.
if you are an rmx/traktor user and have a few seconds to export / upload your map, it would be greatly appreciated.
cheers
dj soulman
the rmx is set to midi channel 1 in the dj control panel ?
youve selected it for both in-port and out-port in controller manager?
i have it working correctly with v1.2.7 (as many others do), so im not sure why you qualify it as out of date...
as for the midi icon (ctrl) in the master display bar, it should always be visible.
thanks for the reply....
yes, ive followed those instructions but when i get to page 3 in the instructions, it states the following:
a. under midi setup, make sure hercules dj console rmx is marked with an x in the
active column for both midi input and output devices.
heres the thing, the option "midi set up" is not shown in my preferences menu (i have the demo version) on my install. do i have something disabled elsewhere thats causing this or does the demo exclude this connectivity?? (i think this could be the root of my problem)
ok the midi icon, i do have the ctrl icon but on page 35 of the traktor manual, the icon is shown with the text "midi".
the tsi file... i actually was told by ni support that the hercules file was out of date...

heres the e-mail:
hello xxxxxxx, i looked at the attachment, the traktor versions are very old have a different way to import tsi midi files.
we are currently on traktor version 1.2.7. https://www.native-instruments.com/?id=updates
traktor now uses the controller manager to import tsi midi mappings..
the rmx is not a traktor ready device so we do not provide a tsi mapping file.
i would check the various dj forums and ask other rmx users for there tsi file. always ask what version traktor was updated to when the tsi file was mapped, then have your traktor application on the same version.
traktors current version is 1.2.7. https://www.native-instruments.com/?id=updates the following kb article can be used to program traktor midi functionality with a midi controller like the rmx..

page 3 of the configuration document refers to the midi configuration if you are using traktor version 1.12.
the configuration regarding version 1.2x is on page 4...
thanks, i overlooked the text on that paragraph. i have however followed the sequence for 1.2x in previous attempts.
so ive continued with the instructions on page 4:
- imported the file (making sure the correct boxes are checked)
- in controller manager, i have the "generic midi" option selected.
- i have in-port and out-port selected as "hercules".
- i then click close.
still the rmx does not respond.. which is confusing as it works fine with vdj.
can you make sure that is is correctly installed ?
http://ts.hercules.com/faqs/eng/her_eng_00403.pdf
also , can you test it as a midi controller outside of traktor ?
i have verified the rmx is installed correctly as shown in the pdf.
the rmx is shown as a midi device in device manager; do i need the midi port enabled on my motherboard also? as i have an asus xonar dx pci-e sound card, i have the realtek 8111b onboard sound diabled in bios. i also have the midi port in bios disabled. does this need to change for traktor?
i have tried running the midi test program but it keep throwing runtime errors up - in french.
"impossible de creer le fichier : c:windowssystem32winmm174.sys"
your onboard soundcard is different device altogether, so no need to enable it.
im guessing you have administrator rights on this computer ?
could you launch midi monitor and traktor by right-clicking on the desktop icon and selecting run as administrator and see if it makes a difference?
