hi, ive come to to forum today for help, i dare say my issue is something silly but its driving me nuts trying to sort it.
basically when ever i switch off vdj on my windows pc and open up the program again the bass treble and middle, master volume etc resets itself, if even appears to do it with every song i load, also noticed that moving the crossfade on my console or changing the pitch makes the volume drop, i use vdj7, ive got the most up to date one, ive reinstalled it and reinstalled the drivers today to no avail...as i said, it may well be a setting i havent thought of...but i really would appreciatte any suggestions.

thanks in advance

I guess you must have EQ reset on Load enabled in the Options tab of the VDJ configuration menu (as indicated on page 39 of the user manual)?

When you say "reset", do you mean that all EQ (on screen) are returned to their center position ?

Hello Jaf,

To make sur it is a wrong setting in VDJ7 not linked to the controller, you can use your mouse:
- load the track with your mouse in the deck: does it reset the EQ also?
- move the crossfader with your mouse: do you get the same impact on volume?

If you get the same issues, stop considering DJ Console Rmx drivers and focus on VirtualDJ instead.

1) Did you install VirtualDJ with your own account of Windows or not?
If you have installed it in someone account, or if you are not administrator on this Windows, it is possible that the setting changes are not actualised, and you should use an administrator account to changed these settings as EQ Reset on load, pitch reset on load...

2) Have you only 1 version of VirtualDJ installed on you PC or several versions?
If you have several versions of Windows on your PC, the settinsg of 1 version may change the settings of another session.

3) Have you installed a third party plugin of VirtualDJ?
Some plugins are not good, even if they are supposed to address other functions, sometimes they have no uninstall feature, so I remember having to fully uninstall VirtualDJ, delete all Virtual DJ folder to get rid of a small plugin whih had ruined VirtualDJ.

PS: as usual, for any message asking for a technical help, you should complete your profile (in My Space > My Profile) in filling:
- the field "Hercules equipment in use": check DJ Console Rmx
- the field "Software in use" : check VirtualDJ
- the field "Describe your equipment" : list your computer name, model, type, PCU, RAM + your operating system (name, type and service pack, for example Windows 7 64-bit Service pack 1), your VirtualDJ release, your DJ Console Rmx driver package.

hi, ok so using the mouse doesnt make a difference to the levels however the bass treble and middle all switch back when the program switches off, i think it may be the console sadly.
i'll update my profile shortly...but all the issues are definetly connected to using the console physically and not the mouse on the pc, i guess this means new console.

Thank you for the reply

Hello,

I am sorry, but I think I have not understood your description, so I wonder what you mean:

Do you mean VirtualDJ resets the virtual position of EQ, crossfader, volume faders and gain knobs when
a) when you CLOSE VirtualDJ VDJ software, and restart VirtualDJ software,
b) or when do you mean you get it each time you MINIMIZE VDJ window?

If it is situation a) it is NORMAL with VirtualDJ 7: VirtualDJ 7 waits for the first move of DJ Console Rmx gradual controls to actualize the virtual settings matching these gradual controls, while VirtualDJ 8 sets directly the virtual settings to match the position of these gradual controls.
So you should move to VirtualDJ 8: there is no bug, it is just a different setting: acquiring or not the position of all gradual controls at start.
