hi i am looking for some help in setting up my dj equipment.

is it possible to hook up rmx with timecode vinyl in traktor. the equipment i have is hercules rmx, traktor audio 8 sound card, traktor scratch pro 2 software and krk monitors. i was currently using vd pro 7 but wanting to move to traktor. i also had speakers linked via 1/4 jack on rmx 1 and 2.

i have tried following different forums and loading varoius tsi files but stuggling.

what is the best way in setting up this equipment as i am quite a novice at this sort of thing.

cheers

Hello Hoops,

You cannot mix on Traktor Scratch Pro 2 with timecode vinyls hooked to Rmx audio inputs: Traktor Scratch Pro 2 support timecode vinyls only on Traktor Scratch Certified products:
- Traktor audio sound boards Traktor Audio 8, 4, 6, 10
or
- Allen & Heath Xone:4D
- Denon DN-X1600 or 1700
- Ecler EVO5
- Korg Zero4 or Zero8
- Pioneer DJM-900nexus.

Hi Maxdjack

Sorry if I misunderstood you answer, but I do have a Traktor Audio 8 Sound Card.

Is there away of using the Audio 8 soundcard and with the hercules RMX (even if I can only use as a mixer, etc) and how and where would I hook you the Monitors to, the audio 8 sound card?

Cheers

The Audio DJ 8 and Traktor user manual contains all sorts of details regarding the configuration of the audio interface. You can also use the Setup Wizard (accessible from the HELP menu).

As for using the Rmx as a controller, simply follow the instructions included with the MIDI rofile available on the support site (obviously skip the information regard the audio configuration of the Rmx interface):

Hi DJ Phatso

thanks for your reply.

When using the set up wizad and chosing external controller, Hercules RMX is not there so it cant map automatically unless my version is not upto date?
I have tried following the link provided,
part 1 is obvious.

Part 2 tried with varoius combinations
A)Audio setup : Hercules RMX also Traktor Audio 8

(further down on this screen is also as audio device for you to choose either traktor 8 or rmx)

B)Output Recording: tried External and Internal

C) As Per Script

Part 3

A)Followed as per script

A)Also Tried As part 2 as Traktor Audio 8 and instead of loading TSI file as importing from bottom of menu screen by right clicking on add below devive and adding the TSI file!

B) As per script (both ways)

C) as per script

I am missing something really obvious as this is new to me as either mix with either vinyl or digital and not both.

Also I used to have speakers in RMX from 1/4 jack line 1 and 2 for monitors where should these now go?

Thanks for your help

Hello Hoops,

1) Yes, I understand you have Traktor Audio 8, I mean you must plug the turntables playing the timecode discs on Traktor Audio 8 audio inputs, as Traktor Scratch Pro is locked to disable the timecode function on other hardware than the forementioned list, but you can use Rmx as controller and Traktor Audio 8 as audio interface.

2) To map Rmx as controller, you must:
- use the Add > Import menu in the Device Setup area

So that, once you have loaded DJ Console Rmx TSI file, you see it in the device list:
