hi everybody, a week ago i bought hercules dj console mk4. i installed it on my friends pc everything is ok. so then we decided to change it with hercules dj control instinct because there is no differences between both exxcept price.. so we did. when trying to install dj instinct this time in my computer it shows an error when connecting dj control instinct to usb. the display gets blue and pc restarts. when unplugin dj control instinct to load windows, and check device manager it shows that second one is not installed (it says bulk at the end). well i tryied to install new updates from site. i get this file: hercules dj console series - 2012_hdjs_3 package . when installed same error. im very frustrated. so we deccided to to get back the mk4. tryied to install mk4 this time on my pc i got same error on my pc. my pc get stack and blue and windows restarts. why???????????. i think im the only one having this problem cause i saw all the forum.
my operating system is win 7 . i will aprreciate your help. please note that im frustrated and needing help. thanks
- If the driver is currently installed, please run the latest package to uninstall the drivers.
- Next, follow these instructions to disable the automatic restart:

- Once done, shut down and reboot the computer.
- Launch the 2012_HDJS_3 package, and this time be sure to carefully follow these instructions:

If the Blue screen occurs again, please write down the exact error message and post it here.
Hi Dj phasto thank you for respond. i tryied what you said in your answer. but same error: the display gets blue and restart even i changed the options in system configuration. im affraid to connect mk4 to pc cause display gets blue. those are some images to show you. please help me because i dnt want to get back mk 4 to the store. i have 15 days. i want to keep it with me cause i tryied playing with it in my friends pc so it worked. thanks.
sorry i cant upload some image. the problem he says is:
- Device driver software was not succesfully installed: hercules dj console mk4 bulk--------- X FAILED.
- Device manager in sound, video and game controller: hercules dj console mk4 bulk----- shows like not installed. this device is not working properly because window cannot load the drivers required for the device (code31).
when going to startup recovery setting to see why windows restarts i realized that the automaticlly restart checkbox is cheked, so i uncheked it and press ok. when i get back to see if its uncheked it was cheked. i cannot change the options of start up recovery.
i have the software TEAMVIEWER if you want to check something.
When i connect MK4 via usb to pc no light in the machine, so it seem not working.
in the control panel in the taskbar the 2 first options are desactivated. i cannot acces:
- open
- select device.
But other options like : information hardware, updates and exit are activated.
Try the following:
- From Device Manager, right-click on the Hercules dj console mk4 bulk component and select Uninstall, then OK.
Once complete, disconnect and reconnect the console to the USB port.
Does the bulk device get reinstalled correctly or stays with the same error message?
- Connect the console while holding the MIC On/Off button.
You should first notice that Windows is installing a new device, and this is done correctly (you can now release the Mic button at this point), a new window should appear indicating the firmware needs to be updated.
Proceed as indicated to update the firmware.
As far as your computer is concerned:
- This is Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 ?
If this is not the case, you should proceed to installing SP1 and all subsequent updates.
- Does your computer has USB 3.0 port (the inside of the connector is usually blue)?
If this is the case, try connecting the console to a USB 2.0 port, or try using a powered USB hub
i uninstall it and connect mk4 while pressing mic on/of. it trys to install it back but at the end says driver was not installled correctly.
i dont have sp1 so im trying to download it and install. about port usb i think i have 2.0 but my pc is toshiba L350.
ill tell you when install sp1. dont forget me please.
Hi phatso thank you for your help. at the end it worked !!!!!!!. Aleluya. after 2 days of hedache.
i knew that my version of win7 was not original. so i couldnt downlod som updates from microsoft and icouldnt install sp1. i find new version of win7 home premium and installed SP1 and then installed some updates and then installed mk4.
Works 100% with virtual dj.
But i love traktor. im going to install traktor and see how its work. may be ill need some help. Thanks.
Happy that it works, and indeed, "non-official" version of operating system (or softwares) are often the cause of many headaches...
