hi, i was wondering if there is any other free software that i can use for my hercules dj control air as im not poticulary overceen on the djuced software.
the reason i dis like this software is because you have to convert all of your songs in the itunes library to mpeg and since i have over 4000 songs in my library i just cant find the time to convert them.
i have tried virtual dj and i really like it as its so simple to use but it doesnt work with midi controllers if you have the free version and i dont want to pay $200 for the pro version.
i have tried tracktor free and it doesnt work and ive tried mixxx software and i dont understand it.
so i was wondering if you know any free software that i could download and use with my dj control air

I don't understand why you can't play iTunes files, I have no problem with Tracks in iTunes. (AAC format).
Are this tracks DRM protected ?
No they are not protected files just when I click load to deck A or B it says... The file format is not supported.
I can play iTunes files just I have to convert to MP3 or MPEG
And I have tried to contact the Hercules customer services and they have said you need to convert them.
And I'm just getting more and more frustrated with it. So is there any other software that I am use.
Have you tried to re-install iTunes on your computer ?
Are you on MAC or PC ? ( I think its PC).
No I haven't but that would make me lose all my songs.
If you don't have iTunes installed, it's why you can't play iTunes FIles.
And I don't think you'll lose all your songs if you install it.
I have iTunes installed and I CAN play files but ONLY ones that I have converted to MPEG or MP3, it will not play AAC audio files, purchased or protected files.
Please can you answer my question, is there any other FREE dj software that I can use with DJ CONTROL AIR

Beside Mixxx (www.mixxx.org), I don't know any free DJ's software you can MAP and Control with a DJ Control Air.
I was trying to help you for the AAC stuff, because it's not normal that you can't play AAC files.
I'm using both Windows and MAC of DJUCED, everything in my iTunes are AAC files, and only the "old" DRM Protected files can't be played by DJ Softwares...
I only work with iTunes to organise my playlists and stuff, and I have not any AAC issues...
But If you don't want some help...

im new in this DJUCED software and well i had no problem with the original version 1.0.9 that comes in the cd when u get the controller. However after i upgraded to version 1.0.14 im really having a hard time playing my mp3 files.
As i start the program i can iust load one mp3 file in one deck but when i try to load in the other one... it says the same thing about not supported format. So i really dont know what is going on.. if someone can help me out here i'LL really appreciate that

Please try to :
1- Go in "Documents" folder.
2- Locate the "DJUCED" folder then delete it
3- Start DJUCED again.

I think the DJUCED.db file is corrupted or not entirely matching the playable extensions of the files

What are the extentions of the tracks ? (mp3 , m4a, wma ?)

I really i dont know whats going on, or what happened with my DJUCED. There might be a difference between the DJUCED.db from version 1.09 and 1.0.14
Its weird that i can play just the first track in one deck and not load the same file or any other random file in the other deck.
Maybe trying with another software compatible with DJ Control AIR to see the performance of the controller or Installing version 1.0.14 to determine wtf is wrong
And have you tried to delete the DJUCED.db and the config.xml ?
Then use the DJUCED 1.0.14 ?
I have actually tried to erase everything from regedit and using add/remove programs, where are this files located?
im pretty sure i erased all folders in "documents" and any other random folders involving DJUCED.
ill try again but i need more ideas...
All the files that could be conflict with playin' are in DOCUMENTS/DJUCED folder.
Is your XP Pro a "legal" one ? And not a "special" light release ?
Because in this case, it could be miss some files in windows system that don't help to play files...
My Windows is original but without SP3.
However this makes no difference because i was able to play with the previous version 1.0.9.
This havent changed and im really getting dissapointed about this software.
I think about getting some files from v.1.0.9 and copy into the folders of 1.0.14.
Is that possible?
Sup Victo, at the end i decided to install windows 7 and it works perfectly.
i think the problem is in the upgrade of version 1.0.9 to 1.0.14 for windows xp patch.

Open vitrual dj take config klik mappers there you shoos mapper options and than you klik re-scan for new devises (when youre panel is attatched to the pc ) normaly you can now control vjd with hercules air.
