hi all,
ive just purchased an hercules rmx and i wasnt able to install it on my windows 7 64bit. what is the problem? ive managet to install the lastest driver found in internet following the hercules step-by-step guide. ive plugged my device when asked (with windows update driver disabled) but in the windows tray appear the balloon "unknown usb device" and the utility cannot find my rmx.
ive also tried installing the driver manually, but the pc said "the driver for unknown device are already updated". im frustrated and little upset for the difficulties in an installation that should be flawless. i dont know what to do.
btw ive also tried the installation on ubuntu, with little succes (only the mic button was working and selecting the rmx as midi controller freezes mixx).
any suggestion on the windows side?
thanks,
yours potato
ps: a part from the "unknown usb device" the installation goes without any error.
Hi,
It is possible when you ran the DJ Console Rmx installer,
- either you have not checked the "option" trust the software from this publisher,
- or, you have clicked on one of Windows pop ups when you connected the Rmx, and Windows peripheral installer has replaced the DJ Console Rmx driver by a Windows inadequate driver.
So I suggest you
- make sure you operate with a Windows administrator account,
- run once more the Hercules driver installer, to uninstall the Rmx drivers,
- run another time the Hercules driver installer,
and when you are asked to connect your Hercules DJ Console device to the computer, you connect the Rmx, you click on Hercules installer Next button, but you don't react to Windows pop up menus, you only answer to the Hercules installer menu.
