hi there! when i use the jog wheel on the a deck to scratch, the hercules dj control mp3 e2 shts down! is this a real problem that i have to send it to repair, or is it something that i can solve?
thanks in advance!
Can you be a little more explicit ?
When you say the controller shuts down, what happens exactly ?
Do you an error message ?
Can you test the controller using this procedure:
Hi! I have tested using the info provided on the pdf. Everything goes ok except when i get to the Deck A vinil, the program says "Unknown Error" and the Hercules DJ Control MP3 e2 stops working...
Hi Necroman,
To make sure we finally get the meaning of the action you call shts down. can you confirm that you mean
1) when you use the software called MIDI Monitor, the software "MIDI monitor" crashes down, with an "Unknow error" message, when you move deck A jog wheel
2) when you mix in VirtualDJ on the same computer, using deck A jog wheel to scratch makes the software close or freeze?
PS : Please precise in details you computer configuration, as you reduce a lot the chances one may identify your problem if you don't describe completely and with details
- the computer configuration (computer model, computer manufacturer, operating system, CPU, RAM)?
- the software you use (complete detailed version, as for example Virtualdj djc e2 v1.0.3?
- what are precisely the circumstances on your crash (which file format you are playing for example on the deck where you want to scratch: MP3, WDM...., is it a file stored on your computer hard disk)?
- what is the result of the crash: does VirtualDJ close, or freeze or keep on running smoothly if you use your mouse after the error message, does the sound stop or not in VirtualDJ, do the LEDs on DJ Control MP3 e2 shut down or not...?
- if you don't activate the scratch mode, (scratch button LED off), does turning deck A jog wheel also crash the software?
Hi there! And thanks for trying to help!
I have tested MP3 e2 on another computer with different USB cable and the sintoms are the same.
In answer to your questions:
1) Yes, that's exactly what it happens
2) The program shuts down
Computer details:
- Monitor 15,4 WXGA
- Intel Pentium Dual Core DC3200 - 2,00 GHz
- ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 256 MB
- 3 GB RAM
- HDD 250 GB
- Windows 7 Ultimate
- I'm currently using VirtualDJ 6.0.5.
- I'm using MP3 files stored on my computer.
- VirtualDJ continues to work and i can hear the sound. Mouse moves normally but the MP3 e2 shuts down (LED's are switched off).
- If i don't activate scratch mode from Deck A (scratch LED off) the same happends when i turn the jog wheel.
Thanks for your help!
Hello Necroman,
It looks like a hardware problem. I suggest you test it on another computer, with VirtualDJ MP3 e2 (the version in the box) and if you get the same, then you should return it for exachange as defective to your store.
