laptop doesnt recognize hercules instinct

heya, ive just bought hercules dj control instinct, fine machine tho, i put the cd in and just follow instructions, but at the end my hercules got no lights and it is not working at all, what have i done wrong? and also i got this hercules dj instinct panel, which has a red cross on it, it means hasnt been installed correctly, can someone help here out please?
