box and other documentation says software works with mac os 10.5. i have a powerpc mac running 10.5.6:

1) the driver install freezes after 100% and it says "finishing.... complete in less than a minute". just stops and never moves on. looking at mac activity monitor, it does not indicate a freeze.

2) on the virtualdj software install, it completes, but when i try to run the software, it gives error message: will not run on this architecture.

i admit, im a little burned. if this really will not run on a powerpc, then the documentation should say that. i bought the unit knowing i had 10.5.6 on my "old" mac. i really dont want to dedicate my 3.06ghz 10.6.6 macbook pro to the dj rig.

so, i try to install on my windows vista pc -- a "super computer" setup to run world of warcraft with no lag and an expensive 8-channel sound card. virtual dj loads and works from the computer screen, but with the hercules it operates very sluggishly. you have to press and hold a button for about a second before it kicks in. that means that the shuttle wheels dont work at all since the reaction time is so slow. also, can only get sound from the computer. i have yet to hear any sound from the hercules through the outputs or headphone jacks.

also, tech phone support is advertised to open at 9:00am in the usa. i called at 9:15am and there was a message saying they were closed (and they would be open at 9:00am).

btw.... i am a professional level sound engineer and own recording gear (dp7 + motu 896, etc, etc) and yamaha mixing boards (ls9 and os1, etc, etc).... thats just a few of my toys.... not to be bragadocious, but to say that if i cant get this gear working, im not sure what a newbie dj is going to do.

i will try to call support again in a while and if i cant get this resolved, im going to return the unit to sam ash and buy something else.

hello,

you should precise
- which dj controller you use (for example : dj console rmx)
- which software version you use ( for example virtualdj 5.2.2 djc rmx)
- which which driver (for example :  driver package 2.47 in mac os, or driver package 2010_hdsj_4 in windows).

posting a message regarding a software installation issue in the hardware section rather than the software section is not the fastest way to get help.
