hi,
recently my mk2 installation cd got damaged and became non usable. i however was able to download the vdj djc edition from vdj site. and just a few days back, i had to reinstall my laptop since it crashed (blue screen of death! )

well i have 2 issues :-

earlier, prior to this, i was able to connect my mixer to my external mixer and all was well,

but now, even if i connect it through my mk2, there seems to be no output from the 3-4 channel. both a and b seem to play from only one output. ive set it up lots of times before and even now i have all perfect, but why is this issue coming up. am i missing something out?! any advice or hints would be greatly appreciated.

secondly,

i had to update my firmware to the latest cmk2.2009 . but how or where do i get the original drivers that came. namely 3.cmk2.2005 . plsssssssssss help me out here. i would be v.v.v.v.v.grateful!!!

thank you all

I am still awaiting some one to pls help me out in this issue! I have been breaking my head since day before yesterday! And i still have not been able to find a solution to it. I have upgraded the drivers and firmware till date. The only issue i have now is that the output from 3-4 channels is not coming out as it should. The output of both the players come only in one channel of the mixer.

I am still eagerly awaiting some one to pls help me out in this issue. How do you configure the output of MK2 in the MK2 control panel??? When i move the slider in 1-2 output..it works. But the 3-4output shows no sign of output at all. Both my 'A' and 'B' deck play only through the 1-2 output of my mk2 console. What do i do!? Pls help me!!!! Badly need the help. Got 4 gigs starting from day after 🙁  Plssssssssssss

Don't panic, help is on the way.

So, a quick resume to be sure we are on the same page:

- You are currently using the latest version DJC Edition of Virtual DJ (v3.4.1)

- You installed the latest driver from the Hercules support site (4.HDJS.2009)

Now, if this is correct, make sure of the following:

- On the Mk2, the Crossfader is set on DECK A , and the Headphone selection is set to Deck B

- In the MK2 Control Panel, in the ADVANCED tab, Use External Mixer is On

- In Virtual DJ configuration > Sound Cards , Mixed mode is selected

Normally, if all this is correct, the Output from Deck A should be sent to Output 1/2 and Deck B to Output 3/4.

No DJ Phatso! 🙁 I did exactly what you asked me to do..but it still stays the same! The output from 3/4 is not coming out. Outputs of both the decks seem to be channeled out through 1/2 only 🙁 Is there anything or any setting that I am missing out in the Hercules DJ Control panel, that may change this !? Plsss help me out

Here are the events in brief, I did , after my laptop crashed few days back : - (SO that maybe you'd be able to see if I overlooked something)

- I had to reinstall my system. C drive . Now I have a Windows XP Professional 32 bit installed

- I got a VDJ 3.4 djc edition with my console. Upgraded to VDJ 3.4.1 Pro and was using it.

- After reinstalling the OS, I again reinstalled my VDJ . Since I didnt have the driver cd for hercules. I had already downloaded 2008HDJS_3 (And as per what you had earlier advised in reply to a post i had given regarding a lost installation hercules cd) , I installed my Hercules MK2. Installation went smooth. No errors.

- However after installation, I updated the drivers to 2009HDJS_4 and again it uninstalled the previous version and reinstalled the newer one and it ran some automatic checks online and said its okay to use

- So now i start up VDJ and its compatible with MK2 ..no issues. But then i notice after a few funny issues with the mixer, that ultimately, there is no output through 3/4 output channel.

This is how i have connected :-

MK2 (Channel 1/2) -> RCA Cable (No.1) Rt and Lt (red & white) -> Channel 1 of mixer
MK2 (Channel 3/4) -> RCA Cable (No.2) Rt and Lt (red & white) -> Channel 2 of mixer
Mixer Output -> RCA output cable to speakers (Lt. and Right)

In my VDJ Config i have given as output to Speaker and Headfone (4.1) <- This was the setting that I had been using for almost a year!!! with absolutely no issues at all

In the Hercules DJ Console control panel -
Clicked on ' External Mixer'
Set Crossfader to 'Lock in Centre'
WDM mode

But after checking out all possible outputs ( I even tried connecting the 1/2 and 3/4 inputs to the speakers!!! Desparate measure, but dumb I know) , I found out that it runs okay when u run it as a standalone mixer. But I prefer using it with an external mixer. Thats how i have my setup as.

The current problem is that , Both Decks A and Decks B play in Channel 1 of my external mixer!!??? And there is absolutely no output in Channel 2 of my mixer (that is from 3/4 as per the connection)  Both the decks are sending their output THROUGH only 1/2.

I am hoping that you may come up with a solution for this DJ Phatso, Thank u in advance 🙂

Right. Quite a few differences with the setup I have.

For the console, remove the lock to center on the Crossfader. When you enable External mixer, this is not necessary.

In the VDJ configuration, can you try selecting the the MK2 as soundcard (instead of Speaker and Headphone (4.1)) ?

I believe the PRO version should give you this possibility, and this will at least mean that you'll be letting the MK2 take care the channel separation, and that we'll be using the same configuration.

Thanksssssssssssssssssssssss a lot DJ Phatso! Atlast i solved the issue. I had to clean up the registry using CCleaner and for some reason now the VDJ DJC edition works perfect with the external mixer when i put it in the setting as you had adviced! Thank you soooooooooo much DJ Phatso..ur an angel!!!! 🙂
