hi there,
i recently got a djcontrol mp3 le. it works just fine on my desktop computer with windows xp, but after trying to install it on my laptop (windows 7 enterprise, 32bit), i cant get it to work.
i installed the latest driver package from the website, which seemingly went just fine. however the windows driver software installation keeps saying no drivers found. the controller is listed under devices/printers, but says it needs troubleshooting. also the hercules tray icon shows a red cross. running troubleshooter, again, leads to no driver found.
i tried using the cd, supplied with the controller; same problem. i tried all usb ports; still nothing. i know a powered usb-hub could provide a solution, but since i dont have one, id like to make shure i dont miss other solutions before i go out and buy one.
any thoughts on this?
update: borowed a powered usb-hub, still no drivers found. looks as if they dont exist..
Try reinstalling the latest drivers again and be sure to strictly follow these instructions:
http://ts.hercules.com/download/sound/txt/DJ_Series_INSTALLATION_PC_EN.pdf
That was the first thing I tried ofcourse. Didn't work.
I did find the solution however; I installed the controller on another pc and copied the 'program files/hercules' folder from that pc onto my laptop with an usb-stick. Then chose to manually install drivers and selected that folder, including subfolders.
Hope this might help others encountering the same problem..
Edit: the pc's had different versions of windows installed so that did not seem to matter.
Not sure I understand what happenned or why you had to copy that folder from another system ( since the driver installer already does that), but if you got it working...
