ive had dj console rmx, with virtual dj5 djc edition for a month now, i have tried every possible thing to stop the music from skipping when being played out and to no avail!
ive got the following.....
dell studio 1735 t8100 with a processor speed of 2.1ghz , intel core 2 duo
500gb hard drive (2x250gb) @ 5400rpm
4gb of ram
10/100 lan card
256mb dedicated graphics card
vista home premium
works 9
4 x usb 2.0 compliant ports
virtual dj 5 djc edition for pc version 1.0
dj console rmx (package is 1.hdjs.2008)
firmware 1.0.6.28,
driver is 4.3.0.0
dj api is 2.0.17.1
cpl is 2.0.1.7
thats my hardware spec. this is what im doing for a set up....
running the console rmx off a powered usb 2.0 hub
laptop is plugged in, not battery opperated
wi-fi and blutooth are disabled
mcafee firewall is locked down
ive gone into services and disabled windows search
ive changed the laptop to run in high performance mode
changed the performance in system properties from best appearance to best performance
put the virtual dj and driver software onto the main hard drive and all my music (200gbs!) onto the other hard drive
running it as asio 44100hz 16bit 480 (10ms) as it wont let me change it to anything else. when i go into virtual dj, whatever config ive put into it, it changes it back to the above mentioned settings.
ive tried putting music onto external usb sticks and playing them sourced from there rather than the internal hard drive but still skipping.
ive closed down unwanted programmes (i.e. webcam, printer, dell support, dell quickset, google desktop etc)
all my music is mp3 at 128kps to 256 kps maximum
when i run the system monitor its averaging at 5 to 15%, when i load up the cueing deck, this jumps to 60% then back down once its loaded.
mem v is using 1.1gb of its 7.17gb available
mem p is using 1.1gb of the 3.44gb available
im a professional dj and as yet, cannot use this out. the one time i did, was embarrasing as every track was jumping/skipping.
to say this is frustrating is a massive understatement....im this close to wrapping the whole thing round a punters head!!
what am i missing? what am i doing wrong? ive tried every known thing i know to get the laptop running at its best and im still at square one.
can anybody offer any hints tips or solutions or had the same experience?
🙁
hello mattstrongbow,
have you tested with the up to date releases of
- the drivers (drivers package 2009_hdjs_1, on http://ts.hercules.com/eng/index.php?pg=view_files&gid=2&fid=28&pid=215&cid=1 )
- virtualdj djc 5 (version 5.2.1, on http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html - you must register on vistualdj website to get access to virtualdj djc 5.2.1 update)?
=> the drivers and software updates are released to solve problems, so your not using the drivers and software updates means not using the solutions found for identified issues.
have you disabled windows vista file indexing system?
- on "my computer", right click on the hard disk icon, which opens the system properties dialog box.
- close to the bottom of the menu, you can find the check box "allow indexing service to index this disk for fast file searching".
- uncheck this box (which is checked by default).
check your asio i used to have this problem..i changed mine to 21ms i think...u can try to check that...start playing and then see what happens
