hello,
please, i really need some help. i signed up for a dubspot class and now its not working.

i had to reinstall traktor pro 2, went the through the mapping but now i am getting no sound. the asio option does not show up in my preferences in traktor. i tried changing the hercules control panel but it wont allow me to change from wdm to asio. ive tried reinstalling the asio driver but traktor still wont recognize it and the control panel still wont allow me to select asio. i tried registering the asio dll but that didnt work either.

im running win 7 64 bit with a hercules 4-mx and traktor pro 2.5.1

what am i missing??

thanks!

thanks in advance for any help.

Since you seem pretty knowlegeable, I'll jump right into the meat of things and bypass the basic standard troubleshooting.

- From Device Manager, for all the 4-Mx components, right-click and select Uninstall.

- in the window that pop up, be sure to check the box Delete the driver software for this device, then click OK.

- Once complete, run the latest installer package (2012.HDJS.3), which should remove all remaining files related to the driver.

- Reboot the computer.

- Launch Windows registry editor (Start > Run > Regedit), and look for the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ASIO

Normally, there shouldn't be any key related to the 4-Mx ASIO. IF there is one, delete it.

- Reboot the computer again.

- Install the latest driver package

Let's hope this works

DJ Phatso,

As always thanks for your input.

Sadly it didn't work. Followed the steps as provided and no go. I also have VirtualDJ installed and it won't recognize the asio either. So I think it has to do with my sound card (God bless Windows). It's just a stock sound card, Conextant in a Lenovo laptop. I am trying to hunt down an updated driver now.

I will let you and everyone else know the results. If you have any other thoughts please let me know.

Regards,
GOAT

You can also try to simply disable the onboard soundcard through Device Manager, but somehow I doubt this soundcard would actually affect the behaviour of the console driver (nothing is impossible of course).

But the cosole was working correctly on this computer before ?

Beside having to reinstall Traktor, were there any other changes (Widnows updates, new components, etc) that could have potentially affect how the console work?

Yes Sir, it was working great. There was a Windows critical update a few days before the issue started. I will try to disable the soundcard.

I did find a work around with ASIO4ALL so at least I have sound at this point and can start my class.

It's a very weird issue. The console just seems to be locked out.

Still no luck with it. I think I am just going to have to bite the bullet reformat and start all over.
