on my laptop, the hercules rmx sounds absolutely terrible, although my computer is vastly superior to my friends netbook, in which it runs perfectly. the only real difference is his computer is 32 bit windows 7, im 64.
ive installed the latest drivers, tried using asio4all drivers. the sound is like all my songs going through a blender when i try use the hercules soundcard. the hercules functions fine as a midi device, but i used the audio jack on my laptop (the sound quality is just fine that way) but then theres only one output, and i cant listen to songs in my headphones first, forcing me to set up an elabourate scheme of hot cues to dj.
how can i make my hercules run well on my computer? my friends shitty computer (more like a gameboy) runs it perfectly.
heres my computer (well its a variation of this model)
also ive gone into my usb settings and changed the power settings to always on and always on max, it just isnt working.
ive also noticed that when i check device manager, as specified on http://ts.hercules.com/faqs/eng/her_eng_00350.pdf
it does not show up as a it does not show up as a usb audio device under sound, video and game controllers. could that be a problem or is that mearly something changed in windows 7 64x
hello,
1) i wonder if you play sound on 2 different sound cards
- the sound card built-in your computer,
- and the heapdhones output of the rmx,
and then the issue you meet means the dj software cannot synchonize both sound cards, so the solution would be that you play the master (mix) on the rmx output 1-2 and the preview on the rmx headphones output.
2) we dont see you mixing, you can be helped only if you give precise information on your configuration, you should precise
- the dj software you use (dont write virtualdj, the software version is for example virtualdj 5.2.2 djc or virtualdj 6.1 pro)
- if the software is not virtualdj 5.2.2 djc, detail the sound setup in the software (it is very likely to be the origin of your problem)
- the brand name and model of your computer,
- the audio connection: which speakers you connect and where are they connected (on which plug) - which headphones you connect and where are they connected.
ps:
the title of your message "another person having severe problems using windows 7 64-bit and the rmx" is not the best title to get help on a forum. if visitors feel you complain excessively, they dont help you: a good title is precise and neutral (for example: dj console rmx / audio quality issue in the headphones output).
