i have a hercules 4rmx dj controller. i was given a rane sl 2 interface and i wanted to know if the hercules 4rmx dj controller could work as "regular mixer" with rane sl 2 interface.

The 4-Mx is an USB audio interface, just like the SL2, and cannot be used like a regular mixer.

If you want to use
- DJ Console 4-Mx as a DJ controller,
- and Rane SL2 interface as a sound board.
then yes, you can use DJ Console 4-Mx as a DJ control surface and Rane SL2 as a DJ controller in VirtualDJ Pro, Traktor Pro, Cross, ...
If you want to use DJ Console 4-Mx as a regular DJ mixer, then you cannot do it, DJ Console 4-Mx is not a mixer, and DJ Console 4-Mx cannot replace a mixer when using the SL2 audio interface in Serato Scratch Live.
