i install the drivers for the rmx and get to the point where it asks for me to plug in the console. i plug in the console and it doesnt recognize it. although the computer does make an audible noise to signal that a usb device has been plugged in.
i am plugging directly in to the motherboards usb ports. i also tried this on my laptop and it had the same problem.
i am using the supplied usb cable and once again all the buttons just flash on and off. the console is not detected by the driver software and it sits there and hangs.
i dont see an on/off switch.
any ideas?
k let me rephrase every light but the stop buttons, the 12 assignable buttons, the kill buttons, load deck a, load deck b, and a few other buttons light up.
so my scratch, cue select, syn, cue, play / pause, beat lock, pitch reset, source 1 / 2 lights blink. nothing else.
i have also turned off all usb power management such as in the root hub and etc. i have tried starting my computer up with the rmx plugged in already and no matter what whenever it gets power it just blinks.
as the lights blink on and off you can hear in the headphones the faintest buzz noise. mic on/off stays solid the entire time.

it sounds like to me, the firmware has not been fully installed, i may be wrong though.
it took me 6 attemps of unplug/replugging the rmx back in, for the unit to accept the new firmware, but it did in the end and i havent had any problems with it since.
i am googling up how to update the firmware for this guy.
firmware upgrade is much different than installing drivers for windows to properly recognize i thought though?
i am going to call up hercules in the morning. wait...i could call them in like uk now or in a few hours haha....
this is a first time install of a unit out of the box. it was opened but it was bought at guitar center so it is an alright dealer.
i plug in the rmx and hold down the mic on/off switch and it recognizes it, and it gets past the point where it says please connect the console and etc. so it recognizes it. now were installing dj console drivers....going on minute like 4 now. the unit is still blinking non stop but it gives me some sort of response.

this guy here has a similar problem as me.
whats interesting is the installer process for the rmx is using 48-50% cpu on my dual core laptop and its sitting here doing "nothing" installing the drivers for the rmx. going on 10 minutes now...
i have to register at hercules troubleshooting area and then send a fella named adrian a message. he was a real good guy, but like someone else said they have a thick accent.
he is going to help me manually reset my firmware here on my end, just waiting for the hercules e-mail to pop in my inbox so i can finish registration.
spent all morning with them trying to get this thing working. started trying to fix the problem at 8:20 a.m est, had to get an e-mail with a pdf file that contained instructions on how to reset firmware. got the e-mail at 10:55 a.m, spent 41 minutes on the phone with the guy just for the console to do nothing new.
he tells me to give him a call back in a little bit because i have to restart my computer. now i try and call and it gives their hours of operation and it says they are closed (when they should be open).
little frustrating now. this rmx is a pain in the butt right at this moment.
my firmware update program is not recognizing the rmx despite it being recognized and the new hardware wizard found window appearing.
total firmware issue.

i got the same problem, some1 please help, i have a gig thursday (in 2 days) n i have to have it ready by then!

i have the same problem as well. but heres the thing. i tried to update the drivers on my desktop by letting the install software remove the old drivers. rebooted - installed thew new drivers and i get the same problem - that system is xp pro.
now on my laptop - i uninstalled the old drivers thru control panel - rebooted - installed the new drivers - it prompted to plug in controller - detected it - and it updated the firmware automaticaly. tested it on the laptop and it works fine. it does not work on my desktop and thats my main issue - i have to use that system to mix videos as my laptop doesnt have the ooomff to handle video mixing.
i did a 7 hour show last night on my xp rig with no problems at all - other than volume issues issues with the controller it worked just fine.
im going to attempt to reflash the firmware manually - ill try to figure out how but that document could help me as well.
why arent those documents posted in the help section of the site???

update - on my xp system - i copied all the drivers from my vista system - including the entire hercules and guillemot folders and hte dlls out of system 32 and system32/device. i still get stuck at please connect all of the hercules dj products you want to install. windows sees it as an unknown device - i cannot force it to take the drivers (browse to them) but the light sequence on the board has changed. i now have a solid: cue select (right and left one) and the pause/play button on the right deck only. i can now start the control panel applet and retrieved the following info from the xp system:

I've been there too mate
It sounds like to me, the Firmware has not been fully installed, I may be wrong though.
It took me 6 attemps of unplug/replugging the RMX back in, for the unit to accept the new Firmware, but it did in the end and I haven't had any problems with it since.
I am googling up how to update the firmware for this guy.
Firmware upgrade is much different than installing drivers for windows to properly recognize I thought though?
I am going to call up Hercules in the morning. Wait...I could call them in like UK now or in a few hours haha....
This is a first time install of a unit out of the box. It was opened but it was bought at Guitar Center so it is an alright dealer.
I plug in the rmx and hold down the mic on/off switch and it recognizes it, and it gets past the point where it says please connect the console and etc. So it recognizes it. Now we're Installing DJ Console drivers....going on minute like 4 now. The unit is still blinking non stop but it gives me some sort of response.

This guy here has a similar problem as me.
Whats interesting is the installer process for the rmx is using 48-50% cpu on my dual core laptop and its sitting here doing "nothing" installing the drivers for the RMX. Going on 10 minutes now...
I have to register at Hercules troubleshooting area and then send a fella named Adrian a message. He was a real good guy, but like someone else said they have a thick accent.
He is going to help me manually reset my firmware here on my end, just waiting for the Hercules e-mail to pop in my inbox so I can finish registration.
Spent all morning with them trying to get this thing working. Started trying to fix the problem at 8:20 A.M EST, had to get an e-mail with a pdf file that contained instructions on how to reset firmware. Got the e-mail at 10:55 A.M, spent 41 minutes on the phone with the guy just for the console to do nothing new.
He tells me to give him a call back in a little bit because I have to restart my computer. Now I try and call and it gives their hours of operation and it says they are closed (when they should be open).
Little frustrating now. This RMX is a pain in the butt right at this moment.

I have the same problem as well. But here's the thing. I tried to update the drivers on my desktop by letting the install software remove the old drivers. Rebooted - installed thew new drivers and i get the same problem - that system is XP Pro.
Now on my laptop - I uninstalled the old drivers thru control panel - rebooted - installed the new drivers - it prompted to plug in controller - detected it - and it updated the firmware automaticaly. Tested it on the laptop and it works fine. It does not work on my desktop and that's my main issue - i have to use that system to mix videos as my laptop doesn't have the ooomff to handle video mixing.
I did a 7 hour show last night on my xp rig with no problems at all - other than volume issues issues with the controller it worked just fine.
I'm going to attempt to reflash the firmware manually - i'll try to figure out how but that document could help me as well.
Why aren't those documents posted in the help section of the site???
Oh, the laptop is running Vista Home edition
Some additional info (i've been working on this for about 8 hours now. THis is the information reported from the Info applet on my vista system - i cannot get a connection to this on my XP system. I'm at the point of Reloading my XP system as a last resort but will see if any of this helps in fix hopefully within 24 hours....I've got to play again at 10pm EST tomorrow night.

Update - on my XP system - i copied all the drivers from my Vista system - including the entire Hercules and Guillemot folders and hte dll's out of system 32 and system32/device. I still get stuck at PLEASE CONNECT all of the Hercules DJ products you want to install. Windows sees it as an unknown device - i cannot force it to take the drivers (browse to them) BUT the light sequence on the board has changed. I now have a SOLID: Cue Select (right and left one) and the Pause/Play button on the right deck only. I can now start the Control panel applet and retrieved the following info from the XP system:

Let's look at this logically:
a) You know the Rmx is working fine on your laptop, so we can mostly eliminate a hardware problem with the console itself. At least this is good.
b) It used to work on your XP system, but now upon connection it doesn't seems to recognize the console.
- USB problem perhaps? Have you tried different USB ports (I would guess so , but still have to ask) ?
A different cable? How about other USB devices?
- Could be some file corruptions in Windows preventing the console to be detected correctly ( it will not be able to install if seen as unknown device even though all necessary files are present).
A reinstall or repair my be in order....
This is a good example of incident that could be prevented by being well prepared. When I know my system is working and set the way I like it, I make an image of it. I keep a copy on another partition, and one on a portable device. If I do updates or install a new software and somethings goes wrong, at least I can go back to my last good working configuration in minutes and be functional again (unless it's a major hardware problem obviously...). It's time consuming initially, but it pays off greatly when you get problems...
The usb connection i'm using is the same one it was hooked up to the night before. But for testing purposes - i tried different USB cables - 4 different USB ports - nothing else was installed on the system prior to updating the drivers. I even did a system rollback to 2 weeks ago before anything was installed (fresh xp load). Tried in safe mode. All of my other usb devices work fine (keyboard, mouse, printers, external hard drive) Tried to manually force the driver INF to install. Did a regedit and removed the 9 entry's after removing the drivers to get it back to a fresh state. Upon reboot the entry's pop back into the registry even tho there is no Hercules software present. The control panel applet does NOT come out at all even with a regedit. That's why I think the entry's pop back into the registry.
This happened by letting the driver install software remove the drivers themselves. It appears that they do not remove everything like they should resulting in these issues. Then not being able to overwrite them upon re-install. That is the only thing i can pinpoint in the differences between the 2 loads. Other than it's an XP system in this case and the working one is Vista. And at this point I have a different light pattern blinking on the console.
Oh well, I have to hit the road for work. I'll reload when i get in from my service calls.
I'm having the same problem as factory81. If someone can provide me with the PDF that explains force installing the drivers and manuall flashing? Jimmy B? Anyone?
