my controls (gain, high, mid, low knobs, fader etc.) go haywire with both virtual dj and traktor. everthing works as it should initally but after i start using the hardware, the controls on the software interface/gui start fluctuating/bouncing back and forth, all over the place. i have the latest firmware and versions of both virtual dj and traktor. it seems to be a hardware issue. if i open virtual dj or traktor and let the rmx sit idle without interaction, the buttons/knobs on the software will eventually start going haywire by themselves. i assume its probably not worth haveing the unit repaired, but thought i would see if anyone elese has this problem or has heard of it.
Hello,
1) Please confirm if your controller is DJ Console Rmx 1 (first version of DJ Console Rmx) and not a DJConsole Rmx2.
2) Have you tested your DJ Console on another computer.
3) Can you make the test in putting a USB hub with a power adaptor between the USB port and the DJ controller?
PS: as usual, for any message asking for a technical help, you should complete your profile (in My Space > My Profile) in filling:
- the field "Hercules equipment in use" (name of your DJ controller)
- the field "Software in use" (name of your DJ software)
- the field "Describe your equipment" (list your computer name, model, type, PCU, RAM + your operating system (name, type and service pack, for example Windows 7 64-bit Service pack 1, or Mac OS 10.9.3).
Yes, it is the Rmx 1 and I've tested it on two laptops. I'll try the powered USB hub as you suggested. I've also updated my profile with the information you suggested. I also have a Denon MC3000 I use with Traktor Pro, no issues whatsoever.
Thanks for your reply.
Hello,
I wonder if this issue may be due to an electrostatic discharge (ESD).
Can you try the following process ?
1 - Take a thin copper wire (a wire with a plastic sheath):
2 - strip the plasic sheath off the wire on both ends
3 - wind one end of the copper wire around one of the 2 phono ground contacts on the rear panel
4 - partly unscrew one of the 2 screws keeping the aluminum case on the rear panel
5 - wind the other end of the copper wire around this screw, and fix again the screw on its aluminum case
and let us know if you still see the same issue afterwards.
