hi, i recently purchased a rmx from a friend who had literally only used it a couple of times in the house but it was outside its warranty period. he had not used it in over a year but i installed it all onto my laptop, the console updated its firmware automatically but really this is the only change thyat was made from when he used it.. now the jogwheels dont do anything although you can see the timeline moving a fraction back and forward while the track is paused. if i put them into vinyl mode when i rotate them they stop the playing track, when they stop turning the track starts again.

i downloaded the midi monitor utility from the hercules site and checked over all the knobs/sliders etc. everything appears ok but im not sure about the outputs i am getting from the jogwheels. the value jumps from 1 straight to 127 then back to 1 then 127 and so on, this has all happened within about 1mm or rotation on either jogwheel. is this normal as i assumed it would count up in 1 direction and count down in the other.. i have tried everything within the software but i cannot find any reason why they should be off. its really driving me nuts!!

im running a pc with windows 7 home premium, vdj 6 and the hercules rmx

thanks in advance

From your description, it seems like the jogwheels are working perfectly fine.

When testing the jog in MIDI, they will indeed send either 1 or 127. They are not progressive controls like volume or EQ.

As for the behaviour in VDJ:

- When the track is paused:

you can move the track backward and forward in small or big increments , whether the Scratch buttons Off or On respectively.

- When the track is playing:

The jog wheel is used for pitch bend (Scratch button Off) or moving the track and scratching (scratch button On).
