so i bought a 2nd hand rmx controller. lights up as it should do. i am new to all this so unsure what i am doing wrong. when i load djuced i get the message in a red bar at the bottom - sound card not detected. please help

Without information on your computer technical configuration, I do not imagine who may provide an adequate technical help.
1) I suppose you have read the warning on
https://support.hercules.com/en/product/djconsolermx-en/
so did you find a computer with no USB 3 or with Windows 7 or 8.0 as suggested?
2) Please complete your technical profile in
- in "Hercules Equipment In Use", check the name of your controller in the list, DJ Console Rmx
- in "Software In Use", check the name(s) of your DJ software, Djuced
- in "Describe your equipment", describe your computer
- brand and model (for example iMac Retina 4K 21.5-inch, 2017
- CPU (for example Core i5, Core i7, M1, M1 Pro..)
- RAM (for example 16 GB)
- Type of USB port (for example USB 3.0, USB-C...)
- Environment (for example macOS 12.0.1 Monerey)
- version of DJ software (for example Djuced 5.3.1)
- version of DJ driver (Eg. DJSeries 6.43s)
3) And OF COURSE, please precise:
- in DJ Control panel, whether the Rmx Audio Mode is set on ASIO or on WASAPI
- and then precise if, in DJUCED > Settings > Audio, youi have set the adequaate Audio device:
- in DJ Control panel, whether the Rmx Audio Mode is set on ASIO or on WASAPI
- and then precise if, in DJUCED > Settings > Audio, youi have set the adequaate Audio device:
- if the control panel audio mode is set on WDM, you must select in DJUCED DJConsole RMX WASAPI
- If the control panel audio mode is set on ASIO, you must select in DJUCED DJConsole RMX ASIO (ASIO)
1) complete your technical profile in
