hi,
i am having a problem adding an american audio radius 100 to my hercules rmx set up. i use virtual dj 7 as a program. i have connected my radius 1000 to my laptop via usb and to my rmx via rca cables to inputs 1 and 2 on the rmx.
when i use the radius 1000 as a midi controller in midi mode, it is fine and sounds normal. however, as soon as i turn it to cd mode it blasts sound out at a ridiculously high level. i have tried fiddling around with the settings on virtual dj and the laptop but am unable to solve this problem.
i also dont know how to map the rmx so that i can use the pitch and volume controls to control the radius when in midi mode as at the moment i am having to do it manually using the mouse and keyboard.
many thanks
paul
Hi,
When you reduce the gain level on source 1 on the Rmx, does-it correct the problem or have you still a saturation problem?
Yea there isnt a problem when its in midi mode. I have tried reducing the gain but this doesnt help either. I tested the CDJ by plugging it into the back of my home stereo via RCA cables and I was able to use the volume on the home stereo to control the volume of the cd player in cd mode.
From what I can see, the problerm seems to be something with the mapping of the rmx unit. Like when I press source 1, the left side (deck 1) should surely act as a mixer for the cdj?? But I dont know how to set this up
Hello,
1) What do you call turn the Radius in CD mode, do you mean:
- play time code CD
- or play audio CDs?
2) To control the pitch of the Radius in MIDI mode, why don't you use the Radius 1000 pitch slider?
3) I don't know Radius 1000 output level, maybe it saturates the input on the Rmx.
Can you try connecting Radius 1000 headphones output instead of the line output : as Radius 1000 has a headphones volume knob, you can set the output level so that the Rmx input doesn't saturate.
1) Its when I play normal audio cds on the radius, because when its in midi mode it can play mp3s straight from the virtual dj program
2) I have been using the pitch but the volume is still the same
3) I will try that and see what happens, just need to get the right cable for it. If not im planning on getting a AA VMS4 to upgrade because then I can use it as a stand alone mixer
Thanks 🙂
