so i finally got everything set up the way i want it:  timecoded vinyl - 2 stanton str8 100s - herc rmx - deckadance.  my only gripe is the x-fader on the rmx console, i cant do any clean cuts with it.  i just transitioned over to the digital dj world, and though the rmx is a great tool (despite recent comments), the x-fade just doesnt compare to my old analog mixer.  its def not a latency issue, its the x-fader itself.  does anyone know if the faders can be swapped out?  just seems to have a dead spot on either end, creating a gap, and keeping me from performing clean cuts.  is that normal for the rmx, or is my unit screwed?

Hello Zeber,

I don't understand what "having a dead spot on either end, creating a gap and keeping me from performing clean cuts" means.

Do you mean that your problem is:
1) you cannot reach the cut value (with 100% deck A - 0% deck B, or the opposite) at the end of the crossfader,
2) or that you reach the cut value (with 100% deck A - 0% deck B, or the opposite) before reaching the end of the crossfader?

If it is point 1, please precise which driver version (driver package number) of the Rmx you use, and if you have tested the last drivers on t.hercules.com, which version of Deckadance (version number) you use, and whether you are on Mac or PC.

If it is point 2, it is a standard process with faders to have a dead zone at both ends, one usually reaches 100% 2-3mm before the end.

Point 2, mine being much more than 3 mm though.  I have toyed with plenty of analog mixers in the past, this is my first MIDI DJ controller, and it just isnt the same.  So should I just put an analog inbetween, or what?  I have a MIDI monitor and the xfade does reach 0-100% on both ends.  But there is a significant gap from the point of actual cut-off to the dead stop of the xfader.

Which brings me back to my other question; are these Crossfader interchangeable?  I have plenty of spares if they fit.

I'm using the latest version of DD.  Please tell me how to test my RMX drivers.

Current RMX:

Package: 2.HDJS.2011
Firmware: 1.0.6.31
Driver: 5.2.3.0
MIDI map: Default
DJ API: 2.0.22.16
CPL: 2.0.9.1
