i got a 4-mx from my friend, and after i installed the drivers and setup everything, i got it working. after about an hour, i was messing around (nothing crazy, just mashing songs and scratching), when all of a sudden, my cross-fader stopped tracking the cross-fader on the screen. all of the buttons were lit-up, so i unplugged and plugged it back in, and now the only buttons that light up are the 2 stop buttons, cue buttons, and play buttons. the only button i can toggle is the mic on/off. ive tried re-installing the drivers and control panels for it, and it still wont work. also, whenever i plug it in, my software detects it as a pre-cueing device, not a midi. i really need some help asap. thanks.

Try this:

Press and hold the MIC ON/Off button and connect the USB cable to te console. At some point, an application called the Firmware Updater should appear.

Release the button and follow the onscreen instructions.

I keeping getting an error message when I reach the Controller Firmware that states: "Error during update Code:1a (hex). A failure occured during the update process:Code 1a." I don't know what to do now. 😐

Would you happen to be using the 4-Mx on a computer with USB 3.0 ports by any chance?

If so, I would first recommand checking the computer manufacturer's web site for potential driver/firmware updates for the USB 3.0. There have been many issues corrected this way.

Also, try using a powered USB hub instead of connecting the console directly to the computer's USB port. It is workaround that helped other users withh similar problems.
