help, dj set in a few days!
ive been having problems with virtual dj 5.2 and rmx console. i only have sound coming from the left speaker and not the right. my speakers are wired fine as when i disconnect from the rmx console, the cd separate works fine. when i cross fade the music from left to right deck on virtual dj, the music is only playing and mixing from my left external speakers?. also, i plugged my headphones in channel 4 of the rmx console and the right deck is playing in my headphones but not the right speaker?
confirguration:
inputs: none
outputs: headphones
soundcard: 4 out card
driver 1: heacules console rmx aggregate
output channels: master channel 1 & 2 headphones channel 3 &4
in applications, utlities, audiomidi setup:
i did notice that when testing sound in quadraphonic, no sound from my speaker right came out? only test sound came out of left speaker.
ive updated all the software such as drivers as i have snow leopard for macbook pro. 10.6.6
had anyone got any ideas? im tearing my hair out here, and considering selling all virtual dj.
hi nshek,
i had this problem before but then i bought this one cable from radioshack and it fixed the problem.
buy a cable that has a red & white (rca) on one end and the other end the hole where you connect your speaker.
for me, i bought the red & white on one end and the other the 1/8" hole for my computer speakers.
the cable is cheap, should get it for maybe $5.
so yea, put the red and white on the back of the hercules rmx where it says output 1 & 2 accordingly to the colors, then connect your 1/8" jack computer speakers (assuming your computer speakers use 1/8" to plug into) into the other end and it should work. you should be able to hear it on both speakers.
before, i used to have a 1/8" to 1/4" converter that i plug into one of the center two 1/4" outputs, and that gave me the one speaker sound. so yea, try this out and let me know how it goes.

hey dj mojoe
cheers for replyin to this thread, but i already have a rca cable plugged into the rmx con and amp. its weird. id ask virtual dj website but i bought this software/rmx console from a mate who already resigtered his serial number.
whats yr setup on your sound (system preferences) and audiomidi setup (assuming u got a mac)? mayb thats wats goin wrong...

@nshek
the 1/4" output on the back of the rmx are, as the rca, mono outputs, so obviously, if you connect a stereo cable (with tip/ring/sleeve, such as your headphone connector) you will only get 1 channel.
as suggested by mojoe, you will need an adapter from 2x 1/4" mono male to whatever your speakers require.
you say you are already using an rca cable to connect the rmx to your amp ? does that work properly ?
and finally, why exactly are you not using the provide headphone outputs of the rmx ??
hi djphatso
do you mean one of these cables? : http://www.stagebeat.co.uk/p/8239/stage+line+audio+cable+2+x+phono+%28rca%29+male+-+2+x+6.3mm+%2814%22%29+mono+male+mca-304+3m+064980
im using a 3.5mm jack to x2 rca cable and headphone adapter (plugged into output 1) at the moment which seemed to work before i updated the mac with snow leopard (driver for virtual dj also updated).
yep, the headphones seem to work in either headphone output on top right of rmx and output 4.
so if i try to get a x2 1/4 mono male cable/phono cable, will my configuration be the same?
again, the type of cable youll need depends on what is at the other end...
both output 1/2 send exacty the same audio signal. the only difference is the level:
- the rca connectors send a regular line level (-10 dbv), that should be used with most mixer, amplifier and speakers.
- the 1/4" (6.3 mm) jack send a stronger +4 dbu signal, meant to be used with pro level gear ( pa system, etc).
so why exactly arent you going from rca ( on the console) to rca (on the amp)?
