hey all 🙂

i bought a hercules 4mx a couple weeks ago and recently noticed this problem with the sound. its as if the treble keeps fading out and then fading in. i know for sure the songs dont sound like that...

i havent had that problem (or at least didnt notice it) until a couple days ago. just yesterday though, it worked perfectly. even today also, it was working fine, until i disconnected the set and then reconnected it again... then it started doing it again! i guess it has its moments... although i never disconnected it yesterday while mixing. maybe thats why?

here is a short recording of one of my songs to better describe this problem (downloading it sounds better than that silly sample player):

this problem is a real pain in the butt. it really ruins my mixes!

i know i should post some specs here, but i dont know what to post exactly. any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂

So, just clear things out, does this problem happen only on the output (i.e. when playing to your speakers connected to the back of the 4-mx) or does it happen when recording a mix inside your software (Virtual DJ I would presume), or both ?

If only on the output, do you have any possibility of testing your speakers and cable with another source ?

Can you also try playing the same music through the 4-mx but using another software (iTunes for example)?

Try moving the connectors/cables a bit to see if there mighht be a false contact or a bad cable.

I can't says I notice anything out of that recording.

Hello mate,

Hummm its sounds too weird, isn't? Let's see...

Check out if the issue happens with the sound playing on headphone/monitor? Just in case!

Try to change the rear RCA outputs (for ex. Try to use 3 & 4 instead 1 & 2). Or even try to change the cable to fit  ¼’’ jack outputs.

If you are plugging the 4-mx into an external mixer, please assume a double check in all cables and system configuration.

Check out if any effects in 4-MX is running (check shifted option as well).

I hope that ya solve the problem before ur next gig. LoL Cheers!
