hi,
recently purchased an rmx after my friend gave me an old hercules mk1 dj console to play around with.
the old console used to let me split the audio between the master (speakers) plugged into jacks in my pc and through the console into headphones. i could then sucessfully split the decks to mix listening to head phones through the console.
the rmx doesnt seem to want to work that way. i have it plugged in on virtual dj pro (same as before) and having 2 out puts of sound. 1 card master to play the mix and the 2nd card the rmx to listen to the cued track through my head phones. i cant hear anything through my head phones apart from a ringing sound.
can anyone help? the sound system running on my pc is just a logitech 70watt desktop speakers connected via aux jacks. which i want to use as the output master and the rmx to play through head phones.
any help would be appreciated.
joel
Not sure if the head phone jack in the RMX is dodgey but just keep getting ringing sound.
I would suggest you try the following instead:
a) In the VDJ audio menu, configure as follow:
Input : None
Output(s): Headphone > Master : Output 1-2/ Headphone: Output 3-4
Soundcard: DJ Console Rmx
Check the box APPLY EQ ON EXTERNAL SOURCES, then click APPLY.
This will make the Rmx the sole audio interface for VDJ.
b) Next, let's take care of getting the sound to your speakers.
You didn't mention the exact model, but I'm pretty sure your system has an secondary input to which you can connect an iPad or a gaming console. What you will do is simply connect Output 1-2 from the console to this input.
This will allow you to use your speakers with your computer for movies and such as you usually do, and the Rmx for Virtual DJ exclusively.
c) As for using the headphone:
The most important knob on the Rmx is the monitor Mix, right next to the headphone volume.
- When in the CUE position, you will hear the deck for which the CUE SELECT has been activated
- When in the MIX position, you will hear what comes out of Output 1-2, according to the crossfader position.
- If you want to hear a bit of both (when preparing a track), simply put down the middle position.
Yessss! It worked thanks for the help man :)!
One other thing now...lol
Setting up the custom buttons 1-6 is there a loop button in V-DJ Pro that lets you loop-in within a loop overiding your previous start of the loop?
The default loop in loops you back to the start of the loop rather than cutting the loop down if you now what I mean. Current;y I have set loop in andf loop out but the loop in button doesn't shorten the loop it just simply starts it again rather than shortening the loop but keeping the loop out at the same point?
Thanks again!
It seems to do it in the RMX version of Virtual DJ just not Pro 🙁
