hello,
today when i connected my hercules rmx to my computer it started making a little static noise. the static noise come from the speaker even without traktor turned on - its simply coming form the rmx when its connected. however when i turn on traktor, the noise is more intense and louder.
ive tried changing the cables and reinstalled the drivers but its still making the nasty noise. also tried playing with latency - nothing. any help plz ?
it started today, it wasnt doing it at all before so i rly have no clue what it could be. can my rmx be defective ? any advice plz...
lets check a few basic things:
- do you get static from the speakers when using another audio source (ipod, cd player, etc) ?
- can you try other speakers with the rmx ?
- tried another usb port and/or cable ?
- how about the other outputs of the rmx ?
had same problem ......this has to do with the power supply on your laptop or desktop.
you need to use a 3 prong to 2 prong adaptor taking out the ground prong ..that was the source of my static and has fixed my problem.
found this out by disconnecting the power cord from laptop while running the program (static disapeared)and then plugging power cord back in static came back
they also make a noise isolator plug for around 50-75 dollars if you want to keep the ground plugged in that connects to the end of your laptop or desktop power cord
hello metal_stuff,
1) do you hear this static noise on headphones plugged in dj console rmx?
if you dont hear in in headphones, can you connect your laptop or desktop on the same power supply as the speakers via a multiple plugs outlet, and test if you still the noise it in the speakers?
2) in case the issue has an electro-static origin rather than a ground isolation origin, can you try the following process?
- on the rear panel, remove the screw attaching the aluminium cover (close to the usb port)
- wind up a thin coper or steel cable 360 degrees on the screw, and put the screw again in its original position on the aluminium cover
- wind up the other side of the copper cable to the ground screw on the input 1-2.
